I have Lightroom 5.7.1. Not free. I really don't care how you got yours, just please don't accuse me of steering you to pirated software, thank you.

Just out of curiosity, I checked the Adobe website for "Lightroom 5.7.1" and saw no reference to a free download.
There are "free trials" though.
Maybe Joe is referring to a limited time free trial?

Joe, a day or so after I'd mentioned here what a great program Lightroom is for editing photos, you wrote to me that you found a free copy and a "serial number that works".
The link you put up is to a 30 day free trial. It still works after several months because of your "serial number that works"...it's just not right to tell people that it's a free program. Any program is free if you can find a serial number that works and you don't pay for.
I'm really done with this. If you believe free is the same thing as what you did, godspeed to you.

I had a great day on the golf course yesterday. 3 over for the round. Even par with two holes to go then my driver let me down. It's been about 20 years since I shot my best round of one under par so it felt pretty good to have a near par round. I decided to post this in this topic because a lot of liberals think that golf is an elitist sport, but it really is a great teacher of integrity, honesty, and good sportsmanship which is the polar opposite of many other sports where cheating abounds and it isn't a foul unless you get caught. Wasn't biting my lip Joe, just working on signs and playing some golf.

Hey Dave... I am hoping to break par tomorrow. Since we are playing a best ball scramble, and the other 3 guys are pretty good, I think we might have a chance. (not a chance of winning, but a chance of getting below par). Golf does help teach all those things, but I think some people tend to cheat at it too. The last time we played this scramble we came in 8 under, and finished 25th. The team that won turned in a 24 under.

I have two brothers in law who are excellent golfers, one has organized a number of tournaments and is almost at pro level. About a dozen years ago, those two, my brother and I made a foursome at a family reunion at the Ridges Golf Club in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
We played best ball and there is plenty of water to deal with when teeing off at 13. All of us tried to drive across the lake. All failed. I sliced so badly, my ball was still on terra firma along the side of the lake, whereas the others were in terrapin firma at the bottom with the fishes. That was one case where being a bad golfer helped. We finally used my shot! My brother usually placed himself between me and the pin because he said that was the safest place to be. He was correct.
I have figured out all I need is a 7 iron, sand wedge and putter. Nothing else works. On a 400 yard hole, I can get to the green in three swipes with the 7 iron, whereas my wood shots will be in the woods and by the time I get out of there, I'll be way behind where I would have been with the 7 iron, even if I do manage to acquire a mulligan and encounter a math malfunction or two on the scorecard.

David, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin is in my neighborhood.
I have never golfed there, but a very good client of mine started out selling memberships for the place before there was ever a golf ball on the property. The water is all man-made and those lakes are just ponds of water with vinyl liners.
I know this is way off topic... but so is everything else!

My stepmother Auril and her first husband John built that course. My parents had gotten close to them when my Mom and Dad would stay at their campground on trips to Wisconsin to visit relatives. A while after my Mom and then John died, my Dad married Auril. They live in the house next door to the course.
My Dad is 93 and my stepmom is 100. They still go camping, although not in tents anymore.
A couple winters ago, the house burned down one cold 4°F morning. My Dad was cooking breakfast when he saw smoke pouring up the basement stairs. He told me, "I didn't know what to save, so I grabbed my favorite antique, my 98 year old wife, and we headed out the door!" They rebuilt it and moved back in just over a year ago.

The place, as I understand it, was a gravel pit when John bought the land right after WWII and started building the course. He bought old buildings and highway bridges and moved them to the course, planted thousands of trees, built custom homes around the perimeter, put in a racetrack and campground, restaurant, etc.
When we visit, we canoe and ride a pontoon boat around the lakes and islands there, hike in the adjoining woods, and get together with our many Wisconsin and Illinois based cousins.
I just looked your location up on Google maps. We usually go to Rib Mountain when we're picking up incoming family at Central Wisconsin Airport. Small world.

For those who care.. There is no need to go into orbit over the software mentioned above. There is no worry about pirated titles..
Adobe published a link to get their CS2 suit or the individual cs2 titles for just a download. That included all the necessary serial numbers one could want.
It was done because they shut down their authentication servers for CS2 and didn't want the hassle of legal owners going rogue over a non working yet paid for product.
Fully legal. One can still get the products if one has an account with adobe. One can make an account if they wish.

It's amazing the vast subjects this thread has covered. WOW, all originating from a funny Youtube spoof video. I am constantly in awe of this group of people, myself included.
I am also amazed that an off topic thread winds up being on topic, sign software related. Ponderous!
Just a suggestion, let's all back away from the keyboard and get back to work. Or not

quote:Completely untrue, Curtis. Don't you have google on your computer
And you are mistaken..
I don't need access to google to know what Adobe did. Tens of thousands of people know full well what happened and why. One can google all day long and see what adobe did. Any thought that someone is pirating CS2 is dead wrong.
Turn it anyway you wish. But the fact remains that Adobe released cs2 for download along with the serial numbers and is still allowing anyone with an account to download it.

I know it's true also. I was given an iMac and I thought I would take it home to do some designing at home instead of being at the shop. I thought I would load my second allowable copy of Illustrator onto the computer, but then remembered that the CC versions need to have the computer hooked up to the internet to continue running. I don't have internet at home. So I went to my old software cabinet and found my old PC versions of Illustrator, then I found all my CS2 literature and instruction manual but no disc. I heard about the download and Curtis is right. I went to the Adobe site and there was the download and a serial number to activate it.
