I'm uploading a file for a digitally printed banner, to the "Signs365" website. They ask that the file be actual size so I'm exporting the size as 144" x 36". I'm exporting as a JPG, from Corel x4, at 300dpi with the alter aspect control in "locked" position, I also have "maintain original size" checked. But every time I upload it to their site it shows 100" x 36". Somehow it's distorting the image lengthwise. The company doesn't seem to know what the problem is. Has anyone dealt with this before? Thanks

Ok, It's on my end apparently. I imported the file into a blank Corel document and it's showing the 100" size. Maybe there is a "maximum size limit" or something like that set somewhere in the program. Off to find that........

Hmmmm...corel pretty much lets me set the size as large as I want it. If you have another version of corel, you might open the file there, and try exporting to jpg again.

you will need to open the file in x4, and save it back as a version 9 file. (rename it as something else, so you don't overwrite your original x4 file)

you can also send the file 1/2 SIZE to them..... as for the sizing problem.......COREL WILL take anything on the page......you put there...and includ it in the saving..... BE SURE WHEN YOU SAVE the page is clean of any other letters/objects. ive done this more then once...

Joe...When I export any file to another format, I make sure the "options" option is open and check "selected only" before exporting.

Ok, I'm choosing "select all" > "objects" before exporting and all it selects is the 144" x 36" image. There is no other object in the layout page.

Ok, I saved the file in x4 as a Corel 9 file. I then opened it in Corel 9 > select all > export > 300 dpi
The size at export was 144" x 36" but on the signs365 site, it's showing up as 33.33" x 8.33" which is in the right proportion but a much smaller size. I've never had this kind of trouble before.

Wayne....now you have me scratching my head.
I just opened a new page in corel x3 sized at 144 x 36. Gave it a grey fill, went to export, jpg, rgb, and when I changed it to 300 dpi, it changed the 144 to 100.
I do this all the time with no problems.
There were no new corel x3 updates installed lately. A coupld days ago, I came back into the shop and my computer had restarted from a windows 7 update. Could a windows update cause a page size jpeg problem?
Pretty sure this has just started or I would have noticed it.
Just noticed something...if you export at 200 dpi, the size stays correct. Any higher than 200, and it starts changing the percentages. This is wierd!
Wayne, try exporting at 200 dpi and see if the size stays correct.

Thanks Tony, I tried searching for a way to increase the size in places like "options" with no such luck. Maybe it's a limit set in the software.

This is the file. Would 200 res be enough. I had the same file printed by another company a couple years ago but don't remember the resolution I used then....must not have been 300

i did 2 banners in corel draw X3, one was 36" x 144", the other was 24" x 144" saved them full size in corel as a cdr. when i exported each.........i reduced them to HALF SIZE,as jpeg, sent each one separately to signs 365. no problems.. the file i sent to 365 was: 1. @83.95 X 20.65 inches 150 dpi jpeg 2. @83.95 X 13.64 inches 150 dpi jpeg i said to them on the phone i wanted 1-33" to 36" tall 144 inches long 1-22" to 24" tall 144 inches long....... also gave them the corel pantone # for the teal color 569c i think they hit it perfect. and was sharp and clean. if you built it in corel, in its orignal format it is a VECTOR. only when you export it as a bitmap, does it become a bitmap. exporting a cdr/cmx from corel to a jpeg. wmf. tiff. eps. or ai. makes it other then original. the web site at 365, list all formats you can send to them. i did mine as jpeg, as a tiff it was a hugh file. i exported from corel, i resized each one to 1/2 size, and exported as a jpeg. this might be the problem your having as an exported file at full size jpeg or tiff, eps or ai is a mega sized file. jpeg or tiff.... full size(36" x 144.00") 150 dpi is 324 MEG, at 300 dpi it is 633MEG.

OP. All of the vectors in the above file were converted to a 600dpi bitmap in Corel x4, so that the extra effects could be Created in Corel PhotoPaint x4

This maybe helpful, this is what was taught to me at a local community colleges introduction to the Adobe suite class. Please consider this as a general guide.
Monitor resolutiona are typically 72 ppi if you are designing for an electronic device there is no reason to go higher than 72ppi. The device is the output.
Photocopies/desktop printers output is about 180 ppi. not much need in exceeding 180 for photocoped prints.
High quality offset printing and magazine art is 300 ppi
Large format printing for our typical use 120-150 is acceptible in most cases.

The business card and brochure printers I deal with the most want a cmyk jpeg at 300 or 350 dpi. There are a couple others that get ai files or pdf's.
My roland printer does a great job with a 150 dpi jpeg.
