I sure don't mind seeing off topic posts here, they are part of what makes this BB a "community". But 4 posts on "Drug" related topics, pretty much dominated by the "same old", really seems a little rediculous to me. What gets me most is the name calling and personal insults though?
Frankly, I could care less if you guys like each other or not, just find a different sandbox to use as your kitty litter please.
Give it a rest guys, or take it somewhere else.
There are a lot of talented, good people here that are getting pretty turned off by all the BS. I'd sure hate to see Letterville loose them just because a few are incapable of following rules.
And YES you guys DO know the rules so lets not start a whole new "old" debate on how things would be so much better if they were posted different.
Steve and Barb are on vacation, after babysitting this place for so many years, I think perhaps they deserve it. Lets let them enjoy it.

Kelly, I guess i am one of the rediculous ones.
Lets get nitpicky, of the 4 posts about 'drugs'
1 was about drugs and labeled "OT" poll on drugs 1 was about Willy Nelson 1 rediculous one about caffeine 1 was Todd Gill's attempt at humour
I agree lets can all the drug talk and get back to talking about cars, food and grandkids.

I'm just wondering out loud here, but is there a law that one must read EVERY post on EVERY subject? I generally look at the subject line, and if it is a subject I'm not interested in, I simply refrain from clicking on the link.
"Trouble with my Gerber Edge" will not get my click, since I know nothing about Gerber Edges. BUT, since I consider most on here to be my friends, I'd like to get to know them better through seeing their opinions on other matters besides whether One-Shot was better with or without lead in it. I read and enjoy the "Off-Topic" posts.
I may not be interested in your family life, but I sometimes read these posts because they show another aspect of some of you that I might not see otherwise. I'm not going to quit coming to this board because I see 8 posts on weddings, anniversaries and grandchildren on any given day.
So other than wearing out a few pixels on my LCD monitor and sometimes having to skip a few subjects, "Off-Topic" OR "ON-Topic" posts I'm not interested in are not costing me anything.
Maybe this would be a good motto: "If it make you spit a brick, just don't click."
That is only my personal opinion and subject to change frequently.

Ken, nothing personal, and I never called any one rediculous. I'm not big on personal attacks.
No, I have no identification, Todd. Maybe you can post the rules as to who has the rights to opinions here. I seem to be in the dark.
Many of us sit here and watch what happens and say nothing. That doesn't seem to work. I make no apologies for saying something. There were a number of personal attacks on the posts in question.
No we don't need to read all the posts, and mostly I don't, but if you think allowing that type of thing to run unchecked on this BB does not have any adverse effects to it's reputation and survival you are wrong.

Actually...I'd say if your opinion counts - mine does too.
You've had a few of your own obnoxious posts that were thinly veiled with tee-hees and not-so-innocent innuendos.
Did WE ALL go a little overboard? Sure...But maybe if you're not a part of the original discussion, and have nothing to add, and don't like the tone - you should just not click into and read every single post.
You're coming off as the Police lady is a little disingenuous. You're an adult, you don't need a V-Chip....just don't click on the channel that disturbs you. Tee-hee

Kelly, the personal attacks were in between the lines and probably between people that already don't see eye to eye. I also don't enjoy name calling and personal attacks, unless it is blatenly sarcastic (those who know me, know I am a bit sarcatic now and then)
Other than a few pokes here and there, I think there was a good debate in there somewhere.
To me its just more fun than reading about someones grandkids drool or looking at wedding pictures of people I don't know.
Don't take any of this as a personal dig, just my preference.

I talked to a guy at the Dixie meet (who will remain nameless) that has been around this place for a long time. And the reason he's not around here much anymore is because it just dosen't have as much to do about signs anymore. He made a good point I think. Some of the topics seem more like a way for a few to just stir up crap that become's the most hit post on the board.
The one thing that is sad to me is that the "portfolio" forum does not have the hits or posts as this side. How the hell is anybody that is still learning (and we all are) supposed to see what is good and what needs help if they don't post? I have posted there and got alot of nice comments, but you know I could also use a little "I might have done this" from time to time. It's how we learn and get better. I think this place is great. But I am with Kelly, other than the occasional "Proud" moment that you might want to share about your life or family with your friends on this board, can't we get back to talking about signs and striping and guilding and carving and new things we discovered work or don't? Or at least cut out the crap that is going to become a ****ing contest for people?

Jake, luckily they didn't make me take my shoes off when I crossed the border back into Alabama... otherwise you might not be hearing from me anymore, hehe. Showed 'em to my wife, had a good laugh, and promptly scraped 'em off with the biggest pocket knife I could find...
Thanks for the initiation, Kissy... but feeling better now with scraped toenails.
OK.. back on topic with the topic of being off topic....
Edited to avoid the spelling cops...

Jake, I agree, I for one was hoping to see more interest in the cost/design forum, I'm one who still has a lot to learn, but no one seems interested in posting there.
After almost ten years of hanging around here I only peek in a couple times a week, not several times a day like I used to.
As for not reading...well....I get curious when it's a 'hot topic' and hope I'm not missing something important, then when I do read them I'm dissapointed with the imaturity of some ppl.
I opened a can of Movie Cop on the offenders that were in the same theatre I was in.....not on the theatre next to ours. I didn't pop into a movie that I wasn't watching to complain about other people's behavior just because I feel I have the need to police people.
The real irony is popping into and reading every single post of a thread you claim to abhore, and then start a new thread flaming what you apparantly cannot resist.

Seems that I remember Todd bringing up the fact that the perps in the theater were black but I can't for the life of me remember him apologizing or taking sensitivity classes. Todd you are nothing but a name calling white honkey troublemaker. Now stop that name calling you scumbag.
