Curtis, I've been to Slidell and it's nothing to be proud of or brag about. As far as the "Incident" in Chat, you flamed me but I was the only one who stated who I am and where I be and I did it loudly and proudly. You, on the other hand hid and tossed your insults as if they are pearls of wisdom instead of the nuggets of crap they are. On the whole though, I enjoyed myself with the experience, and I will not use a screen name and I will go "toe to toe" with anyone. In the future, I shall gather what I can that seems relevent from the dross and drivel.

You were not flamed, you were treated waaaaay beyond fairly after you baited on numerous occasions. Regarding dross and drivel, if you can consistently demonstrate that you can tell the difference (while keeping your hand off your gland) and add something useful to the discussion, then perhaps someone might listen to you. If not, stfuyupos.

I'm really not sure what you could have gleened from the post responses on this thread. The entire thread was started on a false premise. Bull**** in, bull**** out.
Not receiving prompt replies to every email does not constitute being ignored. There are plenty of reasons not to get replies, and all but one of them have nothing to do with the recipient.
That being said, I hope he can get back on track here. It sounds like he went on a bridge burning mission last night on the letterhead chat.

Bobbie, I saw one comin' up...looks like I was wrong (you've been here long enough to surely know when to ignore me), but this thread's apparently not done yet, either. LOL
You all packed for Jill's? Wish I were going. PA is like half a country away from here.

my take on the visit from you in chat last nite was this: you are a 12 year old trying to act 46 and with an ego and attitude of a total idiot with no more interest in learning anything about signs then a p i s s ant!!! i came in to chat in the middle of your rant of how you are a "skin" and we all will feel the rath of you in the future....so childish. you took dead aim at joey madden for no reason. you basically told all of us that were gona your words "blow right by all of us" in the sign world. so anything you have to say ....you think you was ignored before......now you dont even exist in the same world as me. to many like you have come here and have gone.....your nothing more then a FART IN THE WIND, you show up make a little stink, and THEN GONE!!!!!!!!! and you think your a BIG S H I T !!!!

Man, OP...I had no idea it was THAT bad last night. The first clue was David Fisher complaining about the creep's attitude...David's been here for years and so far as I can remember has never had a bad word to say about anyone, ever. Geesh.
This puts a possible new spin on what may have happened that he had a couple emails not answered.
What a jerk.

"Fart in the wind"......wasn't that a song by Kansas?!
Anyway, I'm proud to say I haven't and don't intend on ever getting involved in the "chat" area here...it sounds like Letterville BS X 10.....mixed in with a healthy dose of slander and gossip.
I know you're against prescription drugs OP, but I hope you can now see that in certain cases there is a good case to be made for Valium.....
I'm still sitting in my pew waiting for Reverand Coplen's sermon, which he promised would be coming. Hehehe

Amazing! Two pages of responses to Kelly, and the only response he has to all of us is to trash talk to one of our members.
Kelly, Maybe you need to sit back a little and watch how things work before you jump into the deep end. This really is not a way to make friends and gain respect - or get replies.

That is a bold faced, flat out lie.
Last night when you first came into chat, every single one of us introduced ourselves to you and welcomed you. I was going to ignore this rant, but I will not sit idly by while people spew forth lies like this.

I was on chat last night and asked who was Kiya (whatever name it was) and what Kiya did for a living, after that all hell broke loose and from then on Kiya was a friggin MORON in capital letters.
Thats all I have to say.

I talked with Kelly on the phone tonight. Like many of you, I assumed he was someone from the past with a new name trying to stir up the neighborhood. I was wrong this time.
Kelly reminds me of myself in many ways. In other ways, he's not much different than some of you. He's got all sorts of art experience, but no clue about sign painting and the supplies we use. I can remember a time I thought a lettering quill had a feather. True story!
I'm not saying Kelly is a Saint. He's had his far share of knocks and admits he may have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He's impatient and wants to know everything now. When challenged, he fires back with both barrels. He likes a few beers in the evening, and admits to going over the top sometimes. Drinking and typing never seems to end up well.
This is just my 2 cents, but I see a Letterhead in Kelly. He's passionate about our "thing" and eager to learn and explore his potential. That's good enough for me. I shudder to think what may have been had I not discovered Letterheads back in 1983. It's no coincidence that that is also the year I gave up my own serious drinking problem and began to believe that Steve Shortreed might be more than just a bum.
Someone on chat tonight said that once an asshole, you are always an asshole. If that's true, I thank God everyday that some early Letterheads were able to see past my faults and give this asshole a handup.
Just some food for thought.

Being an asshole is second nature to me. Liking metaphors I would ask all to listen to the song by The Presidents of the United States of America called "Video Killed the Radio Star". Back home I was something but now I've been put in my place, far down the line of evolution, but Steve is right, I am impatient to learn now that I now how dumb I am. Again, to one and all, I apologize for my behavior (Think Sapphire's "Fess Up When you Mess Up"). For the record I truely enjoyed talking with Steve last night. He set me straight and also took the time to find out if I am who I say I am. I am always. I do not hide ever. I am loud and proud and often obnoxious. This Man is honored to be allowed here and on Chat last night after being so rude the night before. Sign me off to the tune of President's "Old Man on the Back Porch" (and if these metaphors caused you to go "huh?" just ask me for the mp3's) and "Peaches". Thank you friends.

Kelly is a young'un (maybe?).. Video Killed the Radio Star is a 20+ year old song (1979) by The Buggles. It was the very first video MTV ever broadcasted in 1981.. back when they actually played music videos.

I always admire someone who can digest their humble pie...but that only works if you can keep it down. Tread carefully & get to know us a little before you rise to the bait again. There are some who will find it difficult to clean the slate completely and it may take some time to regain their trust. If you are hot headed, my friend, they will eat you alive. This is a place of sharing and comraderie for the most part. There isn't much room for egos here, uneccesarily large ones tend to be deflated quite rapidly. Welcome to Letterville, may your time here be pleasant.
