I have recently gained an interest in painting landscapes using Photoshop7.0 ...below is the latest I'm working on...I'm almost through with it...I think some more definition in the foreground...seems I never know when to stop...this was done with a standard hand held mouse...as I understand a digital drawing tablet would be much easier to use...does anyone here use one...if so which brand would you recommend and how much would I be spending...I would rather not spend much unless the advantages are worth the price difference.

Rusty, I love the "Ol Masters" look. Now that's a landscape! These are what I love to oil paint, even on antique safes. It's almost funny how much you can sell oil painting for. But digital art = commercial customers not wanting to pay for the original artwork. Please keep sharing. More pictures please.

Rusty; if you are doing that nice a work with a computer mouse then you will be amazed at what you will be doing on a tablet.
The Wacom product line is the way to go. The Bamboo series are the lower priced models but the Intuous4 line would be the best choice if they are in your budget. The medium size model is $349. No need to go any larger than that.
I work on the Cintiq21 which is a pretty pricey unit but for what I enjoy doing digitally it has been well justified.

I use an intous3 but after really getting into this type of art I am looking at getting a cintiq 12" which will run about a grand. I think having the picture right on the screen you are working on will be a huge bennifit. But if you look on ebay you can get a used or refurbished intous for a little over a 100.00 if you look around. Good luck

Rusty, you have the talent to justify the cost. Just do it.

I recently purchased the medium sized Wacom Intuous 3 drawing tablet. I have played around with it a bit but haven't done any major work with it yet.
I have used it so far with Photosop CS3, Painter 11 and the new version of Sketchbook Pro.The great thing about these is the pressure sensitive pen with eraser. Much more natural feeling than using a conventional old mouse.
At work we use the Cintiq pen displays. Again I am pretty new with these too. I have played around with them a bit but am just starting to put them to work on projects.
I also have Sketchbook pro on my iPad which works well with a stylus to draw with. Great for portable ideation sketching.
You can find the Intuous 3's on ebay for a decent price. I bought mine there and it works great.

I use the Cintiq 21 as well, and I wouldn't use anything else. I had the small tablet then went to the inuos 12x12 before finally giving in and going for the Cintiq 21. It's just awesome. If you can swing it. Get it.
