After nearly 30 years this old sign was pretty much gone...I was only able to save the animal, limb, and plant carvings...I should have taken more pics of how bad it looked before I took it down but I wasn't thinking about posting at the time.
this is the restored sign as it sits in my driveway...there was so much happening behind the sign that I had to black it out using photoshop so you could see the profile...it measures 10.5' long by 7.5' tall...since the sign installation will be put off til spring I thought I would go ahead and post now...the owner will be building a mound for the sign to sit on...which I have pictured below...and a new fence to go around it...the sign will sit in an open pasture just inside his entry gate where numerous llamas and a herd of fallow deer have access...they ate some of the old sign and loved rubbing themselves on it... hence the need to protect the new sign with a fence...I completely redesigned the body of the sign using 1"x8" western red cedar boards run verticle and HDU cut out letters...the jungle background scene was also redesigned to be more believable as I was always dissatisfied with the original...it is hand routed HDU...much of the original had broken off and over the years and had disappeared...probably was eaten.
closeup of jaguar...it is redwood as are the 2 plant carvings on the ends of the limb...the details on the animal are sandblasted in...glad I could save the jaguar as I didn't relish the idea of hand cutting all those spots again...as you can see Magic Sculpt was just what I needed to create bark on the limb.
closeup of hand routed HDU jungle scene...as you can see I hadn't added bark to trunk at this time.
this is how the completed sign will look after installation...work on the sign is complete except for finding the right posts and rope setups which I have drawn up using photoshop...I will supervise the building of the mound, the fence, and the landscaping as well.

I think that this is my favourite of all your signs. The new additions are fantastic!

Wonderful, but I'd suggest removing all trees & foliage- wouldn't want them breaking away from the enclosure!
