That is beautiful work. Engraving like that has always fascinated me.
Would you mind sharing information on how it is done? Do you have any pics of you in the process of doing it? What are the tools used to do engraving like that?

I engrave with a hammer and a chisel. All my gear is all home made. That includes hammers, handles, punches, vise, bench etc. Chisels are made from High Speed Steel and are hand ground to my own particular specs. There is plenty of info available on the interweb for folk that are interested enough.
Think about combining the layout and flow of a pinstriping job, the technical difficulty of reverse gilding glass and then factor in the fact that a mistake will be there for everyone to see, forever.

You can not engrave through chrome. If a part is to be chromed (not recommended, a good polish is enough) then everything has to be cut deeper and takes much longer.
Chrome is the faeces of Satan and should be banned.

Beautiful work. I too, have always been fasinated by glass and metal engraving. I can't believe you did that with a hammer and chisel. I'm gonna have to check out those engraving forums.
