The Quince logo was done by Margaret Ward of Barretts Printing.
The problem was that the logo didn't fit well with the 9'x2'size/shape limitations imposed by the existing sign frame.
The restaurant owner had already called another sign shop but they never returned any of his calls.
Bad for them. Good for me.
This was our solution....
Routed HDU, black smalts, Aventurine Green smalts, 23k gold leaf, copper leaf and a crackle finish for the border.
While we were installing it, the photographer for the local paper happen to be driving by and took pictures. We may end up in this week's Saturday edition.
The other project isn't nearly as fancy, but one I hadn't done in a long while. Working in the confining space on the concrete floor left me feeling nearly beat to death. But the customer is happy. It least I got a chance to get reacquainted with my fitches.
I'm fortunate to have some of the best customers in the world.

Really nice Quince sign- but how long is that ball going to stay in place without someone trying to kick it????

Nice job Glenn - and a great way to "save" a logo that doesn't conform to a given space.
BTW, I love that letter Q. Was that hand-drawn, or from an existing typeface.

Cam.... I suspect the "Q" is from a font she had on file. I have no idea what it is though. I really need to call her and ask. After talking to the client early on, it looks like the Q is going to be a big part of his branding.
Cat.... Hehehe, I'd like to see someone try. The contractor who built it made if from a solid cast of concrete. He custom-made the form in his shop. He's hoping to market it to other high schools.
Anyhow, the Quince client has now ordered an address sign of the same scope to fit inside the window area above the entrance and possibly doing the Q in gold leaf on the door.

What is a quince? Evan has one in his ABC book (copyright 1957) and we have no clue how to explain it!

Nikki, quinces are a hard fruit, yellow, quite a bit bigger than an apple, but they make a nice jelly if stewed. They're not overly sweet though. Joan (my wife) preserves them & the kids have them with custard, from time to time.
