A neighbor on the lake said he was thinking about a "Moose" mural for the stairwell of his new cabin.
 -

Here's what I came up with. I would print it on vinyl. He would have to have little or no texture on his wall.
Gotta love Golden Era. [Cool]

I don't know what bothers me more...
the idea of a vynull mural in a lake cabin or your modern treatment of fine ornaments.
Could you not find a nicer moose image?
The black frame looks dreary...it should be in warmer tones.
I can see where you were trying to go (slumped glass look?) with the highlights on the picture but it just looks smeary and computery.
This could look much nicer, I have seen some of your work.
Just being honest.
Love.....Jill

Michael,

I did a ton of those for a pizza shop here (some 4X8) used matte vinyl and put a small stripe around, looks like frame from across the room, it looked really good.

My first thought was that it was dark as well.

What throws it off to me is the image being presented on a white background here on this page. I'm sure on wood walls it will be just fine [Razz]

Golden Era's ornaments are great to use with modern techniques.

I bet that will look slick when done Mike.

We just finished a fairly large job for a restaurant and we used wallpaper. The wallpaper was able to be installed using regular paste and is very durable, plus the added benefit is that it will come down like wallpaper in the future....vinyl sticks and sticks and sticks... it likes the paint :-)

I think Jill's summary is brutal, but pretty accurate. The first thing that caught my eye was the halo of faux highlight on the image, inside the oval frame. I guess it's supposed to look like a reflection off a convex piece of glass. It's a distraction that doesn't enhance the image in my opinion.

The image itself is unremarkable. It would be a shame to use something like that, when something like this could be obtained:

I've bought rights from wildlife photographers before, and their prices were very reasonable.

The ornaments on the each side of the frame seem too large and distracting.

I think I would approach it something like this:

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone.

I'm sorry if I sounded brutal...but I was being honest.
So many times someone puts something up which (to me) has glaring issues, and they just get oohs and ahhs when maybe they were really looking for some input....or maybe not.
Both Russ and Rapid did what I was trying to say.
Nice moose, better-fitting frame, warmer colors.
Love.....Jill

Not at all Jill. I put this here to better myself & comments like yours, Russ's & the others I take very seriously. I'd also like to say I agree with your assesments.

I can't thank you all enough for the honesty & I didn't see it as brutal at all.

I CAN handle the truth. [Wink] [Smile] [Cool] [Applause]

PS... Let me get this right... lose the round glass look? [Rolling On The Floor]
