Here's a shot of a mural we just finished in Kingston, Ontario - 27'6" x 18'. Highest point is 37' above grade. Love the Keim......... that satin finish makes it look like it's always been there. This is the 5th of a series of murals that we hope will someday be a new tourist attraction - a self guided road trip that follows a very historic railway ( 1871 - 1984) through the towns that once depended on it.

Lots of fun to be had in Moose Jaw...It still isn't too late Bill! Especially for our honorary Flatlander. I'm sure that Rhondi would love the spa. If you come I'll give you a demo or to to do. There are a few new faces looking to learn some gold.

Other murals we've done with Keim have been on panels, over a bridge coat that created a rather rough surface to paint on. We've averaged about 1 hour/sq.'with those, with similar detail. This mural is just under 500 sq.', but I estimated 360 hours, based on the height & less detail because of the viewing distance. We finished in 227.5 hours, mostly because we could use paintmasks for the lettering & panels, although there was considerable cleanup at the mortar joints. This has been 18 months in the works, and 14 months from the original thought to being given the "go ahead". Originally, we intended to show mostly the history of the mill, but very few photos exist - train photos are plentiful because there's a certain romance to the old steamers, but no little girl ever grew up dreaming of working in a cotton mill......... So, we incorporated other facets of Kingston's history from the 1880's, which allowed us to tie this into a series of murals based loosely on the K&P Railroad (1871 - 1984), which will someday be part of a self-guided driving tour, north from Kingston. Great Job. I agree with the others...it is so nice to see this kind of work on brick walls. I have never had the chance to do something like this...I would start getting discouraged around ... say... hour 189.

Very nice classic stuff man. I haven't had the pleasure of using Keim yet, but hope to soon. Looks really good. I like how subdued the whole thing looks.
