So there's this Chili Contest held every winter on Martha's Vineyard, (one of the little islands off of Cape Cod) and it's always a great time. Along with the best chili, they also have a t-shirt design contest for the event. Since the only thing I can cook is hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches, I decided to enter the t-shirt contest. This is what I've come up with, let me know what you think!
Thanks

Must be pretty cold on Martha's Vineyard this time of year. I agree with Jane. I'll bet chili is hard to draw... Other than that, it looks great!

Chris, An honest opinion . . .It looks like a computer design. A little too stiff. It needs texture or woodgrain. Some bold and thin outlines. Too much panel . ..not enough punch to the lettering. A custom letterstyle for the main copy. Try to hand sketch several thumbnails then scan it into the computer. Bring it up to size, then start overlaying your lettering and shapes to the drawing. This works for most of us seasoned ol' guys. have fun.

Aw shucks, I thought this was for a wet T-Shirt Photoshop opportunity! As has been suggested, while this design is very clean, it had a bit of a "cold" computery feel. Some type of texture could help to warm it up, as well as some chili in the pot. I'm not keen on the off-center "big". I think I would make BIG very big and chubby, centered, with the Chili Contest in one line underneath in the script. The ribbon could come down a bit too, and the panel size could be reduced. Love....Jill

Thanks for the ideas, I'm gonna try to liven it up. I had a hard time trying to draw some chili in the bowl, it kept coming out.... less than appetizing. It definitly needs some steam at least, though. And I'll rework the "chili contest" part. I spent so much time drawing in the tomatoes and chilis and bowl, etc. that I just kinda just threw in the "chili contest" part without much emotion, and it looks exactly like that. Thanks, I'll post my re-do when it's ready. (And of course Im almost at the deadline to have the artwork submitted...)

Hi Chris - I'd like to see your artwork, but it's not showing up - just an empty box with an 'x' in it. I did one for the Chili Cook-Off in Sausalito years ago.
