Here's a couple of shots of some recent work, as you can see quite the contrast.
The scroll work is really the first I've done in over 20 years, I know it's not that Fancy, but the customer loved it, and to tell the truth it was a lot of fun doing it. The truck is all Versa Camm prints, one of 3 actually, I then had the body shop clear coat the entire print with a high solid clear.. it looks awesome, the clear gave it the same look that a clear over an Airbrushed job would have.

Hi Randy and Bill, Randy the scroll is completely free hand, there's no paterns at all, not even a grease pencil sketch.. it's funny because I printed off from the internet some other stripers examples and tried to copy them, but became fustrated, I could do it, to a certain degree but it did'nt look that good... So I went back to my old style that I did back in the 70's and 80's on vans, and tried to tone it down a bit.. like thinner lines, because the smaller the better on bikes. One other thing I ordered some new Daggers and swords from Mack size 00 thinking that my old brushes would be not up to the challenge, and can you believe it the old ones were just fine, lying there soaked in motor oil, after almost 20 years of neglect, they seemed to come back to life.
Thanks

Nice job on the striping Neil. Thats something that I wish I was better at. I've done a bit from time to time but do not consider myself a striper. I guess it's like I tell people who want to become better at airbrush work...practice, practice, practice!
Did you put a matt or gloss finish clear over the prints? Wish I could see them. What brand of clear are your guys shoot'n and are they just laying the prints out flat on a table for spraying?

Thanks again, Bevin I applied these graphics before they were clear coated, I have a goof friend of minw who owns a body shop, and we do all our large trucks there, install that is, so after we finished installing the graphics, Brian taped up the truck and cleared using a "High Solid Gloss Clear, I believe it was by Dupont. It went on great and adhered really well.
Bevin That is my Background, Pinstriping, Hand Lettering, and yes Airbrush..and I know what you mean, it takes a lot of practice to master the Brush, and I'm no master in my opinion, but to the everyday Joe I probably am. lol. What I always got a kick out of was how everytime I painted something it would always draw a crowd, even the simplist of scroll, but put on those huge graphics and people would fall asleep.
Thanks Again.
