Ryan Darlin, Brewer's Bold ain't no zit, so quit squeezin it! I would extend the Squealin and make "On" the same letterstyle as "The Square". And change the red outline on "Squealin" to white. I'd trim the corners of the black drop-shadder to make it look like they was painted, not all choppy & pasted on-lookin. Also, I'd make the thinner pinstripe part an orange like the top car. And make the blue in the pinstripe darker than the blue in Squealin. Sorry to say so much, and I do like the design....it's kinda classy. G'wan, listen to yo Mamma. Love....Jill

Ryan...I think the blue letters are wrong color. Since the pinstripe design has alot of the same blue, it puts the lettering and the stripe design on the same plane, when really the blue should recede and the letters come forward. So try changing the copy to warmer colors..like yellows perhaps.
That whole area where the letters go over the stripe looks a little too busy to my eye....maybe leave a white stripe btween the black around the copy, and what's behind it, the way you did cruise in. Also, when I squint, cruise in goes away...maybe a color change there too.
It's an interesting design over all though...so this is just constructive criticism to maybe make it even better.....

Like this, not too sure about the colors but just wanted to show you what I meant. Why no apostrophe after Squealin'? Love...Jill Posts: 8834 | From: Butler, PA, USA | Registered: Jan 2001

I dig the overall look of it Ryan. I'd like to see the grey drop shadow on the background elements dropped. It appears it's trying to push ahead when it should be laying back plus it'll clean things up more. Also the black outline on the main copy is just a tad too thick and is swallowing your letters abit.
Just a few tweaks and I think you got 'er.

I think i'd like to see it separated to "SQUEALIN" as the top copy and "On the square" in another line. Otherwise its a sweet design. Cool stuff!

Call me different, but I like it as is. If I did change anything, it would be to make the words squealin on a little lighter.

Thanks for all of the comments guys. Dang Jill tell me how ya really feel! HAHAHAH. I understand where you are coming from but this isn't a sign but a T-shirt design that has to be 12 wide and 14 high. I didn't so much squeeze it but make it tall so it didn't get swallowed up by the design. Your layout looked better but would have been lost in the entire design. I do like it better than mine but this is how it was done last year.
If you look, the reason the colors are the way they are is to keep the color count to 5 colors. This is a screen printed job and every added color is more money. I still agree with you guys from a design standpoint but this has to work as a T-shirt design with a budget. I would have put a white border around the lettering but the customer has decided my price was too high and will not pay it so this will be something else now anyway. Later

Ryan, yeah people don't understand what all goes into a t-shirt design like that.
They think "Damn, it's just a t-shirt. Why is this artwork costing $500 or $1,000??".. and that's just barely covering strictly design time at $50-$60 per hour without any account for the real value of an exceptional design - "It's just a t-shirt"

I was helping him out. I also relaid it out for there flier. Both designs 350 TOTAL!!!!! He wants to know why I am not hooking him up?! I even told him he didnt have to pay untill after the show. Sometimes I hate this buisness. The nice thing is that it is done and I can change it around for the next customer that may need a design like this.
