Just curious if those Rob Ivers videos are good. I am not having any problems with applying vinyl but being 99% self taught, maybe I am missing little time saving tricks or who knows what. Brings back memories of me and pool, for 4 years I played pool seriously but was self taught. Just out of curiousity I bought these 2 videos and I really learned a lot, I even had the basic stance down wrong. Maybe being self taught I still have a lot to learn and I keep hearing mention of these videos. My wife also wants to learn how to do vinyl but she gets mad at me every time I try to show her, accusing me of being a tyrant and nagging, maybe she can learn from these videos?

I have rob ivers tapes and are required veiwing for every one who tries to install for me. Be sure to ask for the secrete technique tape.
Yes Roger, i do it both ways, Dry and wet.
Each job has its own needs and according to experience of the installer too. One of my college boys uses all wet. (rapid tac) the other does it half the time wet. the really experienced do it dry or wet acording to needs.

I’ll second Glenn’s statement. Well worth the investment IMHO.

Hey Roger, I do 99% of my stuff wet now but I figure if I could do every job dry and almost perfect, than I sho-nuf be able to do 'em good wet plus I'm getting tired of fussing with my woman when trying to teach her (she has an inferiority complex I guess). By the way, I did a whole store front (glass) on the inside (stupid city sign ordinance, and you don't want to know how stupid) of the glass. I have been doing them dry but I always get a few straggling bubbles which wouldn't matter if it were on the outside but since it was on the inside you would be able to see them. Used Rapi-Tac 2 and man there wasn't one bubble and it was way quicker. Just put lines to go by in stabillo on the outside of the glass and wham-bam-thank you-mam!

Go to www.robivers.com it is $99 for six + a seventh free video I beleive. I just ordered mine a little while ago. I just like to learn everything I can about anything I do. I have hundreds of books, videos and magazines and I read and learn everything I can. When you think you know everything about something is when you will start getting sloppy and left behind the rest of the pack.

Yeah, Rob does seem to have a phobia about doing anything wet. I've tried doing things 100% his way, including applying dry, but I just couldn't get the knack for it. I probably had an 80% success rate.
But, when I combined his techiques with Rapid Tac, I get a near 100% success rate. Heaven knows I spend a lot less money on asperin these days.

In my "redneck" opinion there are two types of professionals "anything" people in the world. Learned and naturals. If you ain't a natural, you will only be able to do it 50%-75% as good as the natural. I guess Ivers is a natural so I ain't keeping my fingers crossed on doing everything dry.

Thanks to Glenns extremely wise and open mind a thought hit me. Hmmm.. Idea for Rob. I would imagine that an instructional tape from Mr. Ivers that included the use of Rapid Tac products would be a tremendous success. I Think it would benifit installers ranging from the first day beginners to the true veterens. How could you lose? It seems to me like it may just put an end to the wet vs. dry war. Our way of thinking is simple. Use the best tool for the job.
Any ideas?

I thought Rapid Tac Inc. was working on some type of video similar to Rob’s? Bad information?

Santo! I'll be carful not to break the family rule.. LOL.
And yes, we are working on Video, but our current project is aimed at small instruction clips that will better show installers how our products work, and why they work.
Though there has been some mild flaming threads about the Rob Ivers Videos vs. Wet applications in the past, I really don't see how joining together to better help all of you could be negative. Our Video project isn't being aimed at a mass produced instructional product for re-sale, but as an addition to our website, and possibly for distribution to suppliers and customers wishing to learn more about Rapid Tac products.
