Just wondering what most folks have found to be the best solution for lettering Cement Truck doors. I am told that the trucks get washed with a muriatic acid solution every so often.

Don't know about the acid wash, but, I lettered 5 cement trucks about 6 years ago with HP vinyl. Doors and drum. These were freshly painted trucks and I had a clean surface to start with. I see them on the road all the time and they poured my new driveway last month and the trucks still look good. It was white vinyl on maroon trucks. That's all I can say on this one.

Oh how freaky... I was going to do my aunts concrete pumping trucks this past week, but she ended up using a local guy for convenience- in Halfmoon Bay... California.
Vinyl holds on just fine, but like John said where he put it on the newly painted "clean" trucks... that makes a big difference. Those trucks whether mud trucks or the pumps get nasty dirty!
BTW, I've learned from hanging with these guys that "cement" is when it's poured and dry, "concrete" and "mud" is when it's wet.
Like in our trade, we can tell the Joe General Public's with little or no care for our passion (career) from someone familiar with our "substrates" who may show respect for it by trying to learn our lingo when trying to sell us something... calling it concrete or mud may gain some warm fuzzies from them towards you. Just a thought.
The thinking too much side of the Moon
P.S. When these guys have kids in diapers they ask them "Got Mud Travis?" when they want to know if Jr's diaper's full.... it is so funny! Had to be there?

Ah yes, I've heard about our sister city in Californy, and I do believe they spell theirs Half Moon Bay just to be different! And how true re; concrete/cement, I actually knew it, but blew it.
I would prefer to do them vinyl, and avery A8 specs say Resistant to mild acids, alkalies, salts.
Maybe it was the type of vinyl the last guy used, but out of the 14 trucks they have, the vinyl done 4 years ago has failed, compared to the 15 year old painted ones.
Thanks for the replys, its great to see what works for others, or problems which can be avoided.

Back in 1990 I was traveling north along the eastern sea-board on Rt.17 and stopped in this old colonial town called Washington and there was this ship called the HALFMOON anchored in a man-made channel... It looked similar to the MAYFLOWER
