Has anyone found the outlines on The Mr.Clipart cd's to be off? I got the 2002 set today, and the first one I tried was a 2002 Tacoma, and it says 1/20th scale, I kept the proportions the same and multiplied by 20 and the measurements are off? Has anyone else had this problem, or are they really not to scale? I'm not bashing any merchants here, just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks,
Brian Caissie

The first vehicle we did (a truck) was perfect, so we put too much confidence in the templates and the second time (a van) the graphic was too big to fit into the rear panel. We were onsite, so it meant a trip back to the shop to resize and cut it again. The van job was actually 3 vans, different years. Two were okay, one was off scale.

Unfortunately, that inconsistencency means taking careful measurements every time to compare against the templates. But, for the price, they make a good visual aid for design and presentation - just make sure you double check the measurements.

Hello Brian,

First of all we want to apologize for any inconvenience you might had with a file from our Car‘n Truck Collection. Herewith we allow us to explain a few points concerning our product.

Generally the main reason of using vehicle templates should the fast and easy design of letterings and stripings. But when it comes to production none of the available vehicle outline products are able to provide you with 100 % exact dimensions. The biggest reason for that is that vehicle templates are drawn 2-dimensional images of a 3-dimensional object. Today it is not possible to show convex areas of vehicles like fenders, the depth of mouldings or the curving of a windshield. As you can see in our manual we do not promise this accuracy at all and none should do that.

Anyhow if you need the exact dimensions of a vehicle you have to go to it and take the measurements by hands. It might save you time and money not doing the same job twice.. Because we run a small signshop ourselves we know what we are talking about.

Sometimes it might happen that one vehicle out of the 6000+ is not correct. There is a free service we offer to all of our customers. Send us a fax or e-mail with the file and the complaints and we will check it with our huge database and. if there is a mistake, we will e-mail the corrected file asap free of charge.

Really hoping that these answers will help you and any other customer working with our product. Anyhow CTC 2002 is by far the biggest, most accurate and most affordable vehicle library you can get. Please feel free to contact us again anytime. Our company and e-mail can be found on any CD-packaging.

Best regards

Thanks Dick,

I will measure from now on.

I must have been reading the description?

Car'nTruck Collection 2002 includes over 6000 vehicle templates from model years 1991 through 2002. Each template includes accurately scaled (1:20) renderings of all sides and top view, allowing you to design and produce perfectly sized vehicle letterings and stripings right from your design software. And creating professional client presentations is easier, faster, and more accurate than ever before.
