Hiya 'Heads,
It has been decided that our company wants to host an open house for our clients, vendors, and associates. It will be for 4 hours from 3-7pm.
We will be demonstrating our new products and have the event catered, but, I'm sure that there's much more we can do. At the moment, I'm drawing a total blank.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

Of course you've made some hand outs for them to remember you by?

I got two for you.

  • Invite me! [Razz]
  • Count how many accidents happen between 3-7 at that wonderful six or seven way “intersection” of Paxton/Sycomore/Wiser/20th Street. [Roll Eyes]
(Or were you looking for some serious suggestions. [Big Grin] )

Give-a-ways. Works well to bring them in. Make sure that "Door Prizes" is advertised well on your flyers, mailers, invites, etc. People just love free stuff; food, goodies, t-shirts, etc.

If you can, ahead of time, get ahold of their logo and print a couple of stickers or magnets with their company logo on them. They love surprises like that and they don't cost much to produce.

Here are few from the “serious side”. Remember what you paid for them…

  • Business card exchange. Either a card table, corkboard, or similar. This could be a little “sensitive” thought since you stated it’s open to vendors, clients and other associates. Don’t want to use your event to get a customer and vendor together.
  • Vinyl weeding area. Cut a few sample pieces out before hand (take John’s suggestion and use logo’s or copy from attending companies) for attendees to weed. Have a variety of sizes, materials, and colors available. Just for some fun, cut some small, serif copy from some tough to weed calendared vinyl and have attendees weed it without making any mistakes. Fastest time without error wins a prize.
  • Allow them to make something. Your planning on showcasing your equipment, perhaps allow them to use some of the equipment to make a memento to take along. Make some of the pieces or pre-assemble before hand, but allow the attendee to have some hands on to experience part of what you guys do. They intern, get to take along something they had “hands on” time making. Warning: Check with your insurance agent to get his/her blessing first.

Hi!
Serve homemade chocolate chip cookies. Make a big banner & put it on your shop for all to see! Giveaways are good. Notify you local news media/do a press release. Invite Martha Stewart to demonstrate something (I wanna see her method of putting on a pair of control-top pantyhose when she's fresh outta the shower) Go easy on the beer!
love- JILL
