True Type fonts get installed into the windows/fonts directory. Casmate has proprietary font groups that end in the extension .scf I believe the default one is "casmate.scf" those scf files go in the "casfonts" directory.
Both types of fonts should show up in Casmate if you put them into the correct directory.

You can't just drop the fonts into the windows\fonts directory. You need to go to control panel and select add new fonts and select them there to add them. Casmate will read all the TT fonts in there that have been properly installed. Keep it under 400 fonts.

Rick...... I think you may have solved my problem. I checked to see how many font files were stored in windows/font directory……….well over 500, but many of those didn't appear in Casmate. So I started dumping ones that I never use. Interesting thing happened. All these new fonts now appear in CASmate…………..just had to many fonts loaded .....I guess.
I'm a happy sign maker once again.......YIHOO!

I created a "FONTS" directory under the C drive, and added sub-directories for each TT font family, like Clickart...Typefonts.....Great American....etc. Whenever I want to use one of these fonts, I COPY it to the Windows/Fonts directory. When I'm done with it, I delete it from Windows. This way, I have ALL my fonts loaded in the 'puter, but ONLY the ones in Windows are "active". I have ALL my fonts printed out on paper so I, or any customer, can drive themselves crazy, looking for the font of their choice.

CASmate has the ability to access around 1000 fonts at a time. This includes the 400-700 fonts which ship with the program in a proprietary format (~.SCF).
This allows 'only' around 300-600 other fonts to be accessed. These could be TrueType Fonts (Windows Native), or Adobe Type-1 Fonts (requires Adobe Type Manager in Win9x).
Note that Windows 9x/ME also have a limit in the number of Truetpe fonts- that number is between 800 and 1000. That limitation has been eliminated (or at least raised to an unknown value) in Windows 2000 Pro/ XP. Also, these operating systems (2000/ XP) don't require ATM to access Adobe Type 1 fonts. Hope this lends some clarity to these font issues.
