Judi Smith, you would have been proud. Seven shops participated in Nanaimo's 1st Mini Letterhead Meet(home of Diana Krall)
In attendence were: John Lennig of Big Top Graphics, Burnaby Sandi Stephens of Sandi's Signs, Port McNeill Dave Clothier of Marshall Signs, Nanaimo Bruce Clark of Scribble Signs, Nanaimo Wayne Evenson of Wayne's Signs, Nanaimo Norm Boulet of Norm's Commercial Art, Nanaimo, one supplier, Tim Sangha of Industrial Plasics and myself. We broke the ice with drinks and eats, swapped lies and other stories, then cracked the paint open and started to play. Someone gave a router demo, another hand painting, another vinyl demo. This inagural ice breaking meet was by invitation only, due to space available..(nothing political) Talk is already happening about a bigger meet (although not quite of international size just yet!) Thank you all for coming and participating....and they said it couldn't be done in Nanaimo...everyone was terrific! If anyone wishes to be included in our next gathering, please email me. Sue

Good for you!!! This is the way it all started. And being friendly with others in the same business is way more fun than fighting them.
Depending on the timing of future meets I'd love to poke in and learn some stuff and make some friends!

Hey Susan, thanks again for a great day! Looking forward to the next one, for sure. And I did like you tole me, called all those suppliers this a.m. Easiest 8 calls, not selling anything, not buying anything... just "thanks"
And yes, the riding up Island was hot!, those Comox Valley riders will lead you on a merry chase thru the mountains.

Dan...Wow! Thanks...you're on my list! WE'd love to have you.
Adrienne...Do you know Sandy's shop name? Have you got a phone number?
John...thank you for coming. I'm glad you made it home safe. Mike loves the panel you left us and is hoping you'll let us scan it and us it on our crew shirts. ....(any objections? any Royalties?)
Brian...You are not very far away...and just ook how far your dollar will go.....it would be like coming for free. You are certainly welcome. I'll put you on my list if you wish.
Thanks everybody.... Sue

Wow Susan, congratulations for taking the step, the only way to have meets happen is to do it. Yes we both are proud of you and those who attended. Hopefully more will get involved as time goes on, even Luke? Nanimo is such a great place and the ferry ride from Vancouver is as fantastic as the island itself, especially on the one from Horseshoe Bay so mainlanders should consider attending as well. Keep us up to date and we offer our distant support.
