Hey Bruce, I did'nt think that ther'e were anymore Curling Fans here... I am especially interested in the Curling, because a childhood friend of mine is representing Canada.. That's Don Bartlett, he's of course curling with the Kevin Martin Rink. Don grew uo right next door to me in St. John's... before moving to Edmonton when he was around 15yrs of age. He stayed with my wife and I a few yrs ago, while curling in St.John's, and I remember him telling me that He wanted to be "World Champion" at that time... he s been to the Championships but the highest he's finished is Silver... maybe next yr. But I'm also looking forward to Hockey... Big Time!

Curling is cool. About nine years ago during a very hard, cold winter, the pond behind the shop froze solid. I was living in the back of the shop then; on Sunday mornings this group of men came to the pond to go curling. They had the stones, the brooms, etc. Its kind of like lawn bowling on ice. The stones are 40 lbs of polished granite, with a handle on it, so by twisting the handle as you release the stone can be made to "curl" in its path one way or another.
