As we get nearer to building our new shop we have been looking for all kinds of new and inovative appproaches to signs. Here's one of the best I've seen to date...for the last 2 years or so I have been visiting with and old buddy and former boss...he has been working on this system for about twenty years now and it is finally catching up with technology (or vice versa)
He is doing some really fantastic things with sublimations...he has taken it from fabrics and moved it into hard substrates. I gotta tell you he's really got it figured out.
The detail is extraordinary (way better than things you've seen with foils) not gonna mention any names here...He has found so many substrates that work (after years of experimentation)that you'll be amazed at the results.
If we can get enough interest from here maybe we can get him as an advertiser for Steve.
We are sold on this idea and will soon be using it as a production device...we bought an Epson printer 17'x 22' over a year ago and are now looking for a like size heat press.
Can't wait t get into the new digs and get this started.
Here's his web site...<www.fibergrafx.com>...check it out and leave a post to let me know what you think of it.This will be our beginning venture into digital printing.
The investment expense is way less too and so are the materials...will it replace digital, no, but it will certainly get us closer to it a lot more economically.
