I have a problem. My PC moniter has horizontal streaks running across the screen at every line/object on the screen. It's in all programs It's everywhere and I can't make it go away. Any advice is apreciated. Thanks

Yo Bill, I'm thinkin you maybe losing the monitor. I just bought a reconditioned Gateway 17 inch for just 88.00 including freight.I cut and pasted the link below. Hopefully it and the monitor will work. All feedback on the item and seller is good. If it proves out, I'm going to get a couple more. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1288534219

Yes, I'd say your monitor is heading south. You might be able to slap it around to bring it back temporarily but it will probably eventually go dark or maybe it will give you a little white light in the center. Time for a new one.

Could also be the video card. I've seen this before with mine. If you can, try using monitor with another computer. If lines still there then it's probably the monitor. But if they're gone, then it might be the video card.
Good luck,

Bill..Most monitors these days come with a 3 year warantee. If yours is only 1.5 years old you shouldn't have a worry.

I just had the exact same problem. I've got four computers in the house so I just took another monitor from the kids machine and swapped it out. Wouldn't you know it, it does the exact same thing. So I swapped the video cards and it fixed everything. I was convinced it was the monitor before I switched everything around but it turns out it was the video card. It's still under warranty so I won't be out much.
In any case I wouldn't overlook the video card.
