since the post about how to clean windows, i found this article about COKE.
1. use coke to clean the road haze from your windshield.
2.to clean a toilet bowl....pour a can of coke into bowl, let sit for an hour, will clean the stains from vitreous china!
3.to clean battery terminals..pour "the real thing" over the terminal...bubbles away the corrosion.
4.will do the same job as "penaterting oil" on rusted nuts and bolts.
5. to remove grease from clothing...yep pour on the coke....into your load of laundry.
6.you can put a t-bone steak in a bowl of coke...and it will be gone in 2 days....
7.the distributors of coke have been using it to clean there trucks engines for the last 20 years.
8.to carry coca-cola syrup(the concentrate) the truck must display THE HAZARDOUS MATERIAL place cards on the outside of vehicle.
9.this i learned while working in arond machine shops that do engine rebuilds....if you have a motor that has been sitting for a long time and you cant turn the crank and pistons....take out spark plug, pour in "original coke" from a can that is room temp, do this to all cylinders, replace spark plug, let sit for 2-3 days....put a breaker bar on the crank bolt....and it will turn!!!!(and nothing else will do this)
10.the active ingredient in coke is phosphoric acid, its PH is 2.8. it will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. this acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
DO YOU REALLY WANT ....A COKE?

That is one or more reasons while I have decided to pass on all soda. Diet sodas have there own set of problems that they probably cause.

However, all the insinuations about the dangers these acids might pose to people who drink Coca-Cola ignore a simple concept familiar to any first-year chemistry student: concentration. Coca-Cola contains less citric acid than orange juice does, and the concentration of phosphoric acid in Coke is far too small (a mere 11 to 13 grams per gallon of syrup, or about 0.20 to 0.30 per cent of the total formula) to harm anyone, no matter how much Coke he guzzles. The only people who proffer the ridiculous statements that Coca-Cola will dissolve a steak, a tooth, or a nail in a matter of days are people who have never actually tried any of these things, because they just don't happen. (Anyone who conducts these experiments will find himself at the end of two days with a whole tooth, a whole nail, and one very soggy t-bone.)

I have also been doing the 'battery terminal' thing for years. My dentist swears that the acid in most soft drinks causes un-repairable damage to tooth enamel.

Wonder if it would harm lettering enamel? Think I will test it out. Do you think it would soften vinyl adhesive too?

Joe- If I "belive" everything I read, I would have taken your word for it and not taken the time to find another resource for information on the subject.

Just being diagnosed with Osteoporosis(sp?), among other things I will continue to stay away from the stuff.

This is not a change because of this info, I have for a long time only drank Sprite,Mt. Dew or Iced Tea, the latter especially in the south where they know how to make "Sweet" tea.

Come to most resturaunts in Evansville and ask for "sweet" tea and they say....."There is sugar on the table...." and give you a dumba$$ look

UUGGGHHHHHHHHH, You can't make "sweet" tea when it is COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heck, I use it to clean out the paint in the bed of Preston's pickup and even use it to bust up asphalt near the spots where I need to have asphalt busted up. Been known to use it in place of starting ether for my deisel tractor and on real cold nights, we use it in the fireplace to get the logs started. I use it in place of turpentine in his oil paints and even tried it once to clean the deck furniture. Pour some in a lake and watch shrimp come to the surface in droves. Bats also come down in huge numbers if you pour some on a deep plate and set it outside on a full moon. Yeah, that Coca-cola is a mean stuff. I try to avoid drinking much of it, though as we use it for embalming fluid on the fresh bodies we need for our experiments in the

Don't know about Coke digesting the whole steak,
but way back when . . . in my pre-sign days, I worked in a restaurant. We did the test with hamburger, and after two days only the fat was left(floating at the top of the cup).

But seriously, looking for a nostalgic Coke decal. It's a hand holding a bottle of Coke. Approximately 13.75" tall x 7.5" wide.

Thanks one and all.

Man, I been drinking them things for years, too many a day for sure. I might even try one of them experiments, but so far, my teeth are okay, and I don't see or feel anything else wrong that coulda been caused by Coke. I drink water too, but tea, I hate the stuff. Until I find out for sure, pop the top again.

Please disregard Igor's remarks. He somehow got in here last night and wrote quite a diatribe about the mistaked conclusions regarding the fine product, Coca-Cola. I do not think it does quite all of those things....Back! Igor! I know it is halowee....n...Back! I say Igor! What are you DOING WITH THAT AXE!!!! ARGHHHHH!&*(@)_(!_
