I have some pressure treated plywood that I am using for siding on my enclosed deck? How long should I wait before priming it and then painting it. I am treating it like a high quality sign so that I don't have to repaint in 4 years. I sealed the edges with epoxy. I plan to use 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of top coat- latex.

Thanks for any advice,

Diane Balch

Why not use vinyl or aluminum siding?
If you shop around you can get some real deals.
Check with a sider..sometimes they have an excess form a job.
This would be a no maintenance.
We used Jay Cook primer on our barn doors. It held up well so far.Top coated with one shot bulletin
I always wait at least 6 months before painting posts.
Wanna come up for a picnic...I think maybe we owe you a meal, yes?

do you have a BLP paint supplier in your area....they make a wonderfull paint called NAM-E-LAC available in oil and latex....and about $18-20 a gal. depending what their markup is. iam ols school, any bare wood needs oil based as 1st pirmer and top coat....then next time you cam paint with latex. as for painting it make sure its totally dry for oil base paints, you can do a glenn thing and thin the primer with mineral sprits....1st coat 2nd coat un thined.....i lov my KILZ has never let me down.....for priming.
