Thanks to Howard Keiper I found the BullBoard’s Soap- box for the first time. I like it; a great idea for helping to avoid the inevitable conflict which happens when a group of people who are close by association then get even closer by conversation.
I found many things pertinent, and resolved to read up on a lot of back posts in my spare time. Really liked a letter from Connot about OFF Topic in general, which I think is sensitive and caring, with lots of human insight. A real “can’t we all get along” piece. Nobody complimented him on that, and now I can’t find it again to make sure his name is spelled right.
Also I see that any FAMILY member of an advertiser ought to be identified, according to the Mayor of the Board. If that is so, many of you know I’m Mark Smith’s mother, and I better be sure all of you know this for whatever that may be worth.
Mark, as he was growing up around my sign shop watched me many a time put the phone down, drum my fingers, rustle paper to sound like I’m turning pages, stare into space for a minute, pick the phone back up and give the customer the price I said I had gone to ”look up”. That’s where he originally got the idea to write pricing software, looked into what was available and noticed a real need. After he had run his own sign shop for a while he put his frustration to work and wrote EstiMate.
I was the first Beta Tester for sure, and never did it occur to me in those early days when I was doing him “a favor” that he would produce something that has turned into a boon of a favor to so many of us sign makers. I’m proud of him, his perseverance, and his product.

Myra,I appreciate your input on this board. Whether we're talking signs or not smoking, your balance of information and passion contain a comfortable balance. I don't know why it be essential for everyone to know that you're Mark's mom though? I like knowing it. I understand family pride, but from Steve's position, why does it matter if your son is an sponsor here?

Thanks, you are all such gentlemen! And Glenn, I finally, and irrevocably know who it is you really look and sound like and that’s James Woods, the actor. You just don’t have the same temperament, that’s why it took me so long to figure it out. Rick: When I decided to publicly make a statement about being the EstiMother, I obeyed the Mayor’s dictum where he specifically said family members of advertisers cannot help but have an interest in the product, and that they ought to disclose the association. And it made sense to me. For instance, if I would step into the current EstiMate thread and tell how it has made me money and freed me up, and how I would not want to spend a day in my shop without it any more, then I just would not feel right about that unless ALL of you know my son wrote it ----- See!

Now that you've said it, I'd better make known that Rosemary and Latigo (soon to be poster) are my son and daughter. She's the one in the photo with me.
???? What photo? I was sure I saw one appear on one of the posts.
