A customer asked me if I could make their brochure into a color document that they could email. I know how to make web pages but I don't know how to email them. I would like it to show up where it looks like a small web page with a few picts and clickable buttons. I get these all the time but have no idea how to send one myself.

I know that the receiving party has to have their email setup for html.

If anyone of you computer guru's know how to do this, please let me know how to email you or call. Thanks!

Hi Amy:

Sending a web-page is easy, provided the recipient can handle HTML e-mails. Simply paste the code into the e-mail and send it (oops! forgot to mention: make sure all images are published to the web with you tags pointing to complete paths, not relative paths). Or if the page is published, your client's browser should have a "send page" option.

But, to create a brochure that can be broadcast e-mailed (read: spam), I'd recommend a mailing program that allows customization. There are a number of them that work like a mail-merge in Word. They allow merging of names, companies, anything, into the e-mail address, the subject line, or the body of the HTML document ... and each e-mail is send separately for an individualized look. Very slick, and most sell for around 100 bucks.

NOTE TO SUMMA CUSTOMERS: we don't spam. We NEVER will.

Amy, please call me if you have any questions ... albeit after Wed 7.18.1, since I'll be out of the office. 800.527.7778 x 106.

Another option may be Adobe Acrobat, making a PDF file of the brochure. (Just a thought...I hate when people send me webpages that "open without my permission" )

I share the previous opinions : I hate spam.

I consider too PDF files as the best way to send complete documentation about what a product.

Note Adobe Illustrator 9.0 saves file in this format by default, meaning a complete layout of one page can easily be send to people after its creation. Just save it and join it to your mail.

Adobe Indesign uses the same format for multiple pages documents.

To create PDF files from other applications, the easiest way seams, as said Don, to buy Adobe Acrobat. I suppose you know the Reader is free. and widely present on the computers, so you can suppose anybody will be able to read your mail.

I cast my vote for Acrobat also. There are still too many people who can't handle HTML. Around here, most people are at least aware of acrobat files. You also need to know that Acrobat does not always save 100% accurately, so you have to check the output before you send it along. Vic G
