I talked myself into a daycare bus job. Then I saw the bus. I don't think this even qualifies as corrugation. The corrugation is deeper than some "hollers" here in Alabama. The layout will feature various wild animals. The corrugation will mostly be in the face areas of the animals. I want to avoid distortions of the eyes and rest of face. This will be all cast material. Is it OK to stretch the vinyl into the grooves? Or should I slightly stretch these areas of the artwork with the computer before I cut? I do a fair number of business vehicles, but this is the first time I've run across this type of corrugation.
Thanks, tim borden

iam over here in pensacola, and was down at the ONAN generator place....they hada a 64 passenger school bus in there(same corigation)and they were installing a generator, the owner wanted to know who could put animals on the sides of it so the guy at the onan place told them i could...well i looked at it...and told him that the least i would consider was $1000-1200...for the least amount of animals on it....and also i would paint em..would not even attempt vinly with the corigation and the amout of rivits...

Make me one of them thar signs! I need it real bad! Hahaha!
Joe,
My hat's off to ya buddy, that's the same answer I would have given them...Only I would have said 12,-15,000 per side. If they were still standin at that point, I'd be sittin pretty. I've painted plenty of corrugation and they know it costs extra, I could toy with the idea hahaha!
Yeah, it's a pain in the butt, but it's money and it's not impossible to do.
Kinda like those coke signs on fences, which by the way, I'm designing a humdinger for the "Beware of the Dog" sign I gotta put up, on both gates hehehe! Thinkin about putting "SALES" right over it hahaha! And paintin George's Mug over a scrolled ribbon, That sales "salesman of the Month" hahaha!
Maybe folks will rethink that, "...my bro-n-law can make em for $29.99!" response to my quotes. My time ain't free, be gone...no, really...git! I wanna say that all the time. Sucks to be a quill operator in this town, sheesh.
S'anyway, back to dancing with my compressor...canvas on a roll, me and the young'uns too!
Hay RunningWater, I'm thinkin of changin my nick (again?) yes, again...to "DancesWithCompressors"
The first word alone will pull a second glance at least...hehehe!
DON'T stretch the vinyl into the grooves...it won't work and even if it did the vinyl will pull back off the bottoms of the grooves. Experience talking
In order to allow for distortion I would "strech" the areas of the graphic that are going in the corrugated area. Take a tape measure or even better a dress makers cloth tape measure and follow the corrugations to get a measurement, then take a measurement straight across the face of the corrugations to determine the percentage of stretch that will be needed.
