I've just been to see Shrek, it really is one of the best films I've ever seen, a great family movie, good humour, unbelievable animation. A must see!

Limiting myself mostly to movies I've seen in the past few years, so as not to tax my mind too much on a Sunday morning....

Frequency
Shaft (the remake/sequel)
Apollo 13
Swordfish
Men of Honor
Saving Private Ryan
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile

And let me save everybody who was thinking about going to the following movie a few bucks...avoid like your life depended on it..Tomb Raider. Hollywood will have to pull out all the stops to create a worse movie. (But we all KNOW they will give it their best shot.)

actually the WORST movie of the year has to be EVOLUTION the good guys actually win by ( i am not making this up...) squirting a firetruck full of HEAD AND SHOULDERS SHAMPOO up the RECTUM of a gigantic alien .....thing.

oh and btw, it does not prove itself to be true, either

now as for my faves.....

THE MATRIX the spiritual signifigance of this film is staggering.

THE PATRIOT I took my kids to see this one....just to help them TRY to have a little scope on what it cost to make America...

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION Great characters great story...and from STEPHEN KING no less...

DANCES WITH WOLVES Again great story, and characterizations...

SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE Wonderfully blended elements of the real with the fantastic...brilliant acting.

ALIENS The penultimate sci fi "Oh my GAWD" flick....come on tell me you did not love the battle scene between Ripley and the queen!

Star Trek II:The WRATH OF KHAN The pinnacle of Star Trek:TOS it never shined that bright again, not that way.

Star Trek VIII: FIRST CONTACT The pinnacle of the Next Generations shows.

NOTTING HILL Funny! And Julia was never more herself.

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN More than a movie, a national memory. EVERYONE OUGHT TO BE REQUIRED TO SEE THE FIRST HOUR at least. To begin to know the scope of what those YOUNG men suffered there, that we might TRY to live up to it.

BACK TO THE FUTURE I-III I WAS Michael J. Fox in this movie!! It was `1985 and I was 15!!

LONESOME DOVE Great cowboy stuff...I cried when Gus died, the stubborn Fool

TOMBSTONE Just the Kurt Russell V. Billy Bob Thornton was worth the price of admission!!

and a whole bunch more!!!!

LOOK FOR PLANET OF THE APES TO BE BIG, as well as THE LORD OF THE RINGS!
