As usual I found a little trick by accident in Corel 8, probably well known already but I didn't know so it may help some one else too... When using the dimension tool you can scroll through the different angles by using the control key. Also you can toggle back and forth in the main tools with the last two tools used by hitting the space bar. Does anyone know a shortcut to get from the text tool back to the selection arrow with out clicking on it. OK sounds pretty lazy but if its there Ill use it.

Hi Brian:

I cannot recall a keyboard shortcut that selects objects or changes to the Pick Tool. Sorry.

Plus, I haven't used 8 in a while, so shortcuts I might suggest may not work for you. I think you can (in 9 you can) find a complete list of Shortcuts, that export to an Excel table. Here's how:

  • Go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS (or Ctrl-J)
  • Under CUSTOMIZE, click SHORTCUT KEYS
  • In shortcut keys, click the VIEW ALL... button
  • In the table that appears, click EXPORT TO CSV

The CSV (Comma Separated Values) file opens easily in Excel. Just pare it down to the ones you like, print it out, and you'll have them memorized in no time. No more waiting to discover.

Best Regards,

Jim

Brian, I use Corel 7, and after reading your post I started trying to find a shortcut for the pick tool. Try going to TOOLS>CUSTOMIZE>KEYBOARD. You can customize your own shortcuts. Pick tool is under TOOLBOX. This is great!
