Hello to all: I'm new to this activity and have found it to be a very enjoyable hobby. My question is ,what is the best final finish to put on the signs? The signs in the area seem to have a very durable clear plastic finish of some kind.Is it? Where can I find it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, well.....here we go. Welcome aboard, Tim! I'll have the link info up on my website this afternoon. We sell a product called Pelucid to sign shops. Up to now we're convinced that it is the ultimate final coating for all metal and wood products, including HDU types, like Precision Board. It seems to work extremely well on woods to prevent drying out and cracking. We have a three year track record with it on wood and none of them have changed at all. Call on my toll free with any questions. Once again.......glad you're here.

Hi, Pierre, I did a boat on Thursday, kept both the Vinyl Guy's and the Hand Painter guy's happy, high performance 3m gold, with a hand painted outline....the boat moored across from the one I was working on, is a 30, something foot Chris Craft....looks like from the 40/50's in the midst of restoration.........Classic Lines.....The owner of the 36' boat that I "signed" showed me a magazine pic, showing the same boat, in original condition, cruising through the harbour....most magnificent......my question is?.....can Pelucid be used for an exterior finish on the Mahogany trim, the trim BTW, is most of the upper part of this "boat"..the boat moored beside the one I "signed"....has Mahogany trim on the stern, running to the bow......all of the Mahogany trim look's like it has been either wire brushed, or weathered(sp)...looks to me like weather has played havoc with the wood...There is nothing in this for me, just helping out a long time customer, who is also interested in exterior finish that is superior to spar varnish/etc.....What I would like to know......not only from you, but the factory, is the guarantee for this product,In writing, If possible, boat people don't take prisoner's. If I put my "rep" on the line......I'm going to give them your e-mail address..lol...and your 800 number.........on the West Coast we have a lot of rain/humidity/etc. this causes problems with exterior finish....could be another use for your product.......Thanx....Ron

Hey, Ron......Virtually every wood we've used this on has sealed and shown no change in finish or gloss whatsoever. We've used it on raw wood, Varnished wood, Lacquered wood, painted wood and stained wood. It seems impervious to any and all elements once sealed. It allows no moisture in OR out, once properly applied. That was the original intent of the product before we stumbled on it. I'll be happy to get a contact at the factory for you. We're loading the POR15 website info into our website even as I type this. Should be done within another 30 minutes. Call me on the toll free Monday. :^)

OK, Ron.......it's up under the "Products" heading. Feel free to call them on their toll free and ask for "Chris". He's the general manager and very moxie on the products. Bear in mind that we've ventured into areas a bit unusual for the product, but ask him and please feel free to ask me on the toll free.
