Hi guys, I've been giving myself electroshocks to try to spark up some ideas for this funeral home. (just kidding) I have to design some graphics for an existing 51" x 37" backlit & I'm really stumped! I've never done anything for this type of business before, & all I've seen around here are quicky stickies (no offense to anyone). Could you guys help? Thanks in advance!

That'd be a good idea Kevin, but see, this is the first time I've worked with this guy & I'm doing a "look but don't touch 'till you sign" design for him. Perfect time to get athlete's foot in my brain, huh? Swimmer's ear... er sumpthin' like that. Thanks anyway!
Oh, good slogan Jim.

Possibly give it a tombstone feel? Carved marble look to it? Can be decorated to suit the customer's taste...angels, flowing ribbons, doves, flowery accents...or not. I would suggest an offwhite or light pink (like rose quartz) background or "marble."
Black (maybe gold accents) on white to be quick, fast and / or cheap.

Doing a sign thats comforting and reverent and not offensive is a bit tricky. The subject metter for this customer pushes more buttons than most any other type business. The sign needs to reflect caring and tenderness and not look like a big commercial hit.
Some ideas I have involve flowers which reflect a gentile quiet life. Another would be a sillhouette of a horse pulled wagon or carraige heading toward the funeral.
Is there something unique that they do in Puerto Rico?

Thanks Linda, you got it right Rick. That's exactly why I asked. I really couldnt say there's anything "unique" about this (or at least that I know of) Thanks again all!

we work for a few diff funeral homes and mostly they all use a flower of one type or another. one place has a white rose on a burgandy bkground, white vehicles and people dressed in white the name is 'white lady funerals' it works well as a total concept and they are very popular especially with younger folk
another uses the lillies that are also white another a white dove.... I see a pattern forming one has a deep blue bkground and of course there is the traditional black with a gold fine line decoration whatever you do it has to be understated and clasical i guess to portray the feeling of reverance everyone expects from this sort of establishment goodluck
