Unfortunately this can be a difficult process depending on your whether or not your software has a printing inks or monitor setup.
Colour especially on an inkjet is near impossible to forecast. You have many things happening. Paper type, Ink type, available light, monitor setup and ink quality. Non inkjet paper has a tendency to absorb a lot of your ink and the chemicals in the paper affect to colour. So stick to one paper for proofs. You can change the monitor settings to match your printing inks. Print what you want and go into Photoshop and play with monitor settings. Try to match colour to your printer. You can get it pretty close. Remember that your room lighting has to stay consistent.
Also remember that your monitor is not reflecting light. You printed page is. So by eye, close is what you are going to get and that is it.
Once you have this set up tape your monitor brightness and contrast settings so they can't be changed.
You can also try to select different ink types to match but this process is very long. Check it out in your printer properties under colour selection.
Good luck.
I lost a head of hair with this problem.
PS if you have a scanner you should have instructions in the documentation to get printer and scanner tuned together. By the way none of the processes mentioned about your printer really changes anything than the amount of a certain colour hits the print.

You may want to look into investing in a colorimeter. I use one from Monaco. You can get one from a Gerber distributor or from www.pubtools.com . The unit will cost about $250us, but it is worth every penny.

I'm not sure how your program works but if there is a way to print the color pallets it may help you. If you can, print them from the same printer you are using and when you design the work pick colors from the chart to match what you want as the end result and you know the colors will print correctly.
