There's a book deal and possibly a movie in the works on Von Dutch. It's just at the starting stage. For anyone who's interested, I need whatever VonDutch "stories" are out there. Post them here or e-mail me. As far as a book goes, I'll see to it that credit is given for anything we can use....stories....pictures....artwork....whatever is made available.

I actually 'ran into' Von Dutch from a Life Magazine article in about 1966? They talked about his '58 Ford Starliner job that the kid who hired him to flame became so excited about that he drove it home and put it on blocks. I wonder if it is still in that garage?
All flying eyeballs aside, I heard he ended up out in the desert making/firing canon. retired from striping. A very odd duck, indeed. I only knew two other signers who were as talented and odd. Von Dutch certainly had a unique touch and I would love to see any story on him, however I would hope it is better than Crumb. www.prestonmccall.com

Way back, Dutch fired a canon at Catalina island!!! He went into hiding in the 60s due to a car wreck. He was drunk!!! Moved to Arizona in '69, then in "75 had a repeat wreck, and fled to California. He died in '92 from too much obsessiveness!
