I left St Louis, MO at 10am Sunday and arrived home (Lake Havasu City, AZ - on the Cali-AZ border) at about 2pm St Louis time.
28 hours on the road... I guess about 6 of those hours I spent sleeping at rest areas along the way, or pulled off the side of the highway nestled in with the groups of semis also pulled over. =)
What a drastic change in climate too.. When I left St Louis it was in the 30's.. when I rolled into Havasu it was in the upper 80's!..
Today I've just been kinda kickin around town, not really workin at all but visiting with some of the customers that I actually like.. let them know Im back cause a few have put projects on hold knowing I wasnt going to be here.
Anyways... it feels like it did when I first came to this town years ago on vacation. The town has a really fresh, light-hearted attitude about it now. Really feels like I'm on vacation again and the nice part is people are glad I am back! =)

Good for you Mike that you made it there! I like to say that you made the right choice in you stopping area with the Tractors as if you are tucked in between them you are goning to be safe as they watch over each other as the day and night goes on!!! I know as I did this Long Haul for over 6 years and always parked with my fellow friends of the road... Birds of a feather, flock together! You will never go wrong sleeping in a Truck Stop or between a group of Long Haulers!

Nuthin like Havasu. I usually get up there a couple times each summer. Nuthin like parkin the boats in the channel, swigin silver bullets all day and watchin the eye candy float by. I just can't associate work with Havasu!

Bruce, yeah I have a hard time associatin' work with Havasu too.. =) But that's the cool part.. while Im cruisin the channel or walkin the beach or even at a car show playing, it's all building business cause those are the people I cater to. =)
It doesnt hurt that it's spring break either, and the young ladies are baring it all without any provocation. =)
