Omega...now can anyone tell me what that stands for? I'm not trying to be funny, because i dont fing very much humor in Omega.
I have imported jpg, gif, etc, with the new upgrade and its worse than before. Im losing
much of the quality of the pic. Now it wasn't this bad with the last version, and I was told by my rep that all the problems associated with importing files had been corrected. Also how about converting files. When you convert a file that is of a different bit, 24 bit vs 32 bit, i was also told that this was all corrected. Well its not working worth a darn. Any help from anyone would be nice. I am getting tired of calling my tech rep. Thanks: Kevin KLeinhans/

Kevin,

What is the precise nature of the problem .... odd color, very pixelated, poor output, poor color reproduction?

1) Did you use the Monaco Calibration program that comes with Omega?

2) Is the image being imported a 24-bit RGB?

3) Are you using an uncompressed bitmap such as BMP or TIF, or are you using a JPG?

4) When you import a bitmap (tif, bmp, jpg), do did you select "GSP (RGB)"?

5) After importing the bitmap, did you click on the "picture frame" icon and set the image for "high" resolution?

6) Are you expecting the bitmap image to appear at the same quality on your monitor as it is displayed on Corel/Illustrator?

I need more detailed information to give you an accurate assessment.

Yes
I am having similar problems importing files with the new version also.

Most of the time it won't even import the file, I don't remember the exact text in the error box but I will check it tomorrow.

I tried calling Gerber the other day and got a message that they were in a Company meeting and to call back later.... ( kinda scary )

Kevin,

Are you saying that the "distributor", not Gerber itself, is charging for tech service? If so, why not call Gerber directly?

You make me like my distributor more and more. I never have a problem dealing with them and they never charge me.
