This is a message to everyone about our beliefs..
I was on the Letterhead Chat and Live TV.(March 2/2001) I was in a conversation with some people and the discussion had got to the point of how to approach a type of signage.
(I did not know any better then them, but gave my imput) (OK I believe in the free speech of this and that!) But after the fact of offering some insided info I was now confronted with the fact of I was wrong and then I was called a WITCH..
I have to admit, I got ugly on this as 2 people started to laugh at myself and call me this name!!!! (Laugh it off!(No this is not what I was told to do!)) Confront it first and tell the true!!
I wear a Cross around my neck to my Lord! This means to him "I am his servant..."
"Do you dare to mock me now on my beliefs.."
I do not dare say anything about anyone else..(Yours Beliefs are yours!) Remember that this form is for free speech on how we do our business. But your beliefs are your own!!!! Name calling is not something for this format!

Stephen..I am on "chat" quite often...generally from 4pm until 7 pm Eastern time.
Get on then if you can and lets talk.
As someone (gawd I hate being old, can't remember whether it was Jackie or Steph)said in a post a couple of days ago, there is a lot of "between the lines" thinking that happens.
Mostly, we have a good time on chat, and it should be a way to meet and greet people.
I look forward to seeing you there Stephen! AND I won't make any comments about you being from LOWER Sackville if you don't make any comments about me being from "the other side of the tracks" of Granton!

Often as not just as Dave has said there is always something to be read between the lines.Another thing to consider is lag,...that is the time between when some-one in a chat program(such as mirc or the java routine with tha green button on the left side menu of this forum)types something on their keyboard and it shows on your particular screen. Often as not this is different for each user at any given moment in any given chat session.So,..if you have say 5 different people in a session & one is lagging bad he or she will not see what is typed in a proper time sequence.This can be very confusing & occaisionally lead to what appears to be offensive to some.This all depends on the speed of the random server the chat program you use assigns you as you log on to the chat program in use.I personally have logged on servers so slow that I get a response as much a minute before I see the question. At times I have left one server to log on to a faster server to find the server I left is so slow I still see my nick listed on the screen from the previous server and the things I typed minutes before appear in proper time sequence that I typed them.To the inexperienced user this can create alot of confusion and occaisionally some hurt feelings which as I suspect is the case in your situation.Anytime you have a question in chat all ya have to do is ask & usually(not all the time) someone will be there to answer your question,and hopefully no-one will be offended.

I have had many many hours of help, advice, instruction as well as fun, laughs and entertainment from Letterville. Nobody has ever willingly insulted me there. Compared to other chat channels I have tried out I have found that letterheads are mainly polite to one another. I have seldom seen differences of opinion escalate to personal haranguing. One night someone called me a leprechaun. I thought that it was funny and took it lightly in the spirit in which it was intended. Someone else who didn't know me was worried that I might take offence. I saw no choice other than to do a riverdance around the room (until I slipped and fell into a can of one shot). I missed this particular chat so I don't know what transpired. I'm sorry that someone called you something that you found so objectionable. It is only a word and a poorly choosen one at that. I think you should take it with a grain of salt and join us on chat despite it. Bring your sense of humour with you, just in case you might need it. (That way I can borrow yours if I forget mine.)

I realize that I might have gone off the deep end about this. To me the idea is helping each other here. I love the humour as well!!! But to place a person with a derogatory name To me is a NO NO!!! It's like never meeting a Women and calling her a ______ or a person of race and calling them a _____ or someone with a different language and calling them a ______.
I even went as far as calling one of these people to express my thought on the comment..
"And I will apologize to them about this!"
I do not wish to make any enemies but only friends here. Call me Canuck or a Maritimer or a Newfie!!! This is were I live and am proud of it... But there are other things or issues that I will not take lightly.
I am going to get back on track and help if I can with any info....

Heck, I've been kicked and banned off chat by some people who think they are the all powerful monitors of the chat. It's okay for them to be rude and obnoxious, but no one better retaliate! They are the almight ops! And that's why I don't show up any more. LE

Stephen, I was one oh the 4 people on chat that day and the bad person who made the comment. I appoligized on chat, I appoligized on the phone, now I am appoligizing publicly now, no harm was meant, the comment was part of a joke, which in hindsite was not funny. I AM SORRY! now drop it. forgive and forget. As a Christian of strong beliefs, you must know the part where it says "forgive us or trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" Also as a Christian, you should know that you should not pass judgement on other because of what they might believe. "live and let live" Just because you where a cross around your neck, doesn't make you better than some body who wears a star. Don't impose your beliefs on me and I wont do it to you.
