Marie-Josée and I have been to Florida many times, but it's always been off season (July or August) and we've been able to borrow condo's from friends or have gotten reasonable rates from Hotels. We've managed to book a flight on points during easter, which is prime-time, and I'm suffering a little from sticker-shock from pricing hotels. We'll be flying into Tampa, and would like to stay beachfront (or close) and of course a swimming pool is a necessity. If we can keep it under $70 or so US / night we'll be happy.
Looking forward to seeing Don and Janette again, and hopefully meeting some other Floridian Signmakers.

The La Quinta has rooms at about $65 a night, or were as of last weekend when I had family visiting. Don't know all of them, but the one in St.Petersburg has a pool. (I would think you'd have a hard time finding one in this area that doesn't have one) It's right off the 275 exit, which will take you anywhere you want to go in the area in a hurry. Their reservation service number is 1-800-531-5900. Address is 7500 US Hwy 19 North St.Pete. There's another one here at 4999 34th Street, but it's not as modern.
This is about 10 to 15 minutes from the gulf beachs. The closer you get to the water, the higher the prices will be.
BTW, there are some hotels here that I've heard charge by the hour too.
