Hey Roger, Howz about a little specifics (sp?) (rules if you will) like ... ok, you set a Feb. 28 deadline ... is that to submit the design or have final art in hand? Where do you send the art? (ex. a jpg might be fine to e-mail to submit design but would probably have to burn a tiff to cd and mail it for quality final file) After all submissions are in will we get to see all on the web (not to judge just to lookie ... I'll help with that if needed)
Most importantly ... what happens to the designs that don't get picked ... who holds the rights to the design at what point? It would kinda suck to loose and five years later see your design being worn at a meet or something as the 2003/4 design. I'm assuming once the prize money is paid the winning design becomes RapidTac property (to alter at will?) ... what about the rest?
I believe your setting up the contest in good faith and am sure you'll get your fill of top notch designs ... but just saying "do me some designs I'll pay for the best" seems a little vague ... know what I mean?

I was going to post the same question before reading what Mark had to say.. Knowing that the deadline is coming up shortly, I have worked on some Ideas...But like to post to you via E-Mail as I don't think it will be on your door step in time for contest end. I to would like to see all the work sent in. But if I am not picked for the finals, then like to hold my copyright on the design, As Mark stated I would be very bitter on the matter of seeing it used in the future.
Thanks... Raven/2001

Well now, you guys have legit concerns its true! You are dealin with a company with a LOT of integrity here, it is not our intent to make ANYONE unhappy, nor get something more then what we pay for. But I understand your concerns !!
The chosen or "winning design" will become property of Rapidtac Inc. All other designs submitted will stay in possession of that designer(person who submitted them)
We would only expect to "view" proposed designs by Feb 28, however best for you to submit them is ok ; if you like you may post here, but this is not required to enter,it will be at your descretion to submit "publically".
you may e-mail file to Rapid Tac Inc. or send artwork to our office in Oregon.
We would prefer a cd file as final art on winning design, but this has variables too.

seems to me, since this IS t-shirt artwork and not a large format print goin on a bus wrap, that a TIF file wouldnt be too big to send via email.
100 DPI at whatever size (12"x12" or so?) isnt too big of a file. This is for screenprinting on t-shirts so the details afforded in a high-res image are lost when the screens are burned, figuring that a 100 mesh screen is prolly as tight a screen that'll be used for textiles. I could be wrong, depends who's makin the shirt.
These days t-shirt shops are usin technology, vector graphics software and laser printers to make exposures. Vector art keeps the file size low as well.
So this brings up another question..
Should the final art be vector or raster format? Doesnt matter to me either way, I'm doing my designs in Illustrator so I can send either format... but others here might be limited to raster imagery.
