My wife and I sleep in our hallway with a battery radio and candle power.
The area has around 350,000 people and still 2 days after there is no power in many areas. We were very lucky as the ville I live in was the first to reconnect on the grid.
Some of the oldest trees in Canada 150-200 years have been knocked to the ground and will be never replaced. Houses and buildings blown apart. Line ups at Gas Stations and Stores.
Mother Nature said it was our time after 40 years of good weather.
What a mess but life goes on... Only 2 lost their lives in this...But still 2 to many.

Hi Stephen. Glad you're okay. We had 10 trees come down on our shop property, but none of them hit the building. None of them were particularly great trees either. It was really sad to see the majestic trees that were uprooted in Halifax. Property damage can be repaired, but those trees are lost forever.
Outside my window here in Hubbards there is a huge lineup for gas at the station across the street. We were without power yesterday but are back at it today.

Had to go downtown this morning to take the wife to the hospital for pre-post blood work before her operation.
What a mess! Zig-Zagging around power lines and falling trees. Still alot of people without power but crews are working as fast as they can. Grocery stores are open and Gas is back to normal.
Thanks again!
