Mike..I can't tell you anything about the cost or availability of slitters but one of my local suppliers has one. I believe it will handle up to 60" logs.

Well I could not afford $5,000.00 for a Spliter But I already Had Chop Saw Spent $180.00 at Sears Many Teeth 14" of Blade works Very Good, I had Indvisioned Disater..Work well No Mess Clean Cut..No FEAR!

YA, I chop trans tape all da time. just dont go so fast or you will make too much heat. Works great. And you can chop rolls of butcher paper too!

I use the bandsaw to chop rolls of butcher's paper- just roll the roll into the blade slowly. I haven't tried plasticky stuff, or sticky stuff though. Try it at your own risk ! Best wishes
