I've gotten into university for mid year entry. Will be going back late July to continue my study. I've been applying for a lot of jobs recently (not sign related... mostly sales positions), and I've had a run of bad luck... you know, things like potential employers not actually showing up to the interview they set up with me. However, you all should be happy to hear that I have kept painting... and I've even learnt how to do a bit of sewing now too. So I have kept busy with my time. I've got a few examples of some of my latest just here...
This is my latest... was just playing around with colour really.... and I don't think it turned out too badly. The colours are a little different in real life... it looks better.
The following one is one that I did a little earlier than the last piece... I think it turned out pretty good
This one was leaning back.... so the face looks a bit weird. Tis not really, it just looks that way because of the angle of the painting. Oh, and she doesn't have a shadow... there will be a reson for that as soon as I think of it. I know, mythical creatures don't have shadows... Yeah, that'll do *grin*.
This one is just a sketch I did... a quick study of the female form... eh, it turned out ok

geocities may not allow linking. right-clicking the red X and choosing properties shows the URL which can be pasted in your browser. Maybe you should just give us the links to get us there quicker. Here is the first one. Looks Great BTW !

Very happy to see you reentering school! I don't know the statistics, but it would be a fair guess that the vast majority that leave school with the intention of going back never do so. (I can think of one person in perticular that falls into that category....ME!)
A university education only requires a small amount of time, proportionate to your life, but will benefit you till your last day.
That was the long version of saying..."I'm proud of you!"

Interesting. I like the style. Color, contrast, and technique all done very well.
Don't get discouraged. Van Gough only sold one painting in his lifetime, yet "Stary Night" sold at private auction for $85 Million(US)

Oh, and I'm not getting discouraged... In fact, I've been felling better and better as time goes by. I needed that six months off, and I'm ready to go back now.. And as far as my artwork goes, I haven't tried selling any, and am really just working on getting my technique up. I've also looked into art grants, and have applied for the 'nescafe big break' (http://www.nescafebigbreak.com.au) which is a competition for people between 16 and 24. In my age category, there are 4 prizes of $20000 and 4 prizes of $2000. I pt in an entry expressing my desire to get together enough paintings for an exhibition, and to be able to hold one. Well, I hope I get a chance to send in my support material, because I've already started painting for it anyway... they are artworks in a more looser style, similar to the castle one, which are more based on texture and colour than any sort of realism. Eh, I want an exhibition by the time I'm 21. Cross fingers for me that I will be able to achieve this goal. *grin*
Kat.
PS, I will try and get those pictures up so that you can see them properly asap.
