You know you are in the SOUTH in THE SUMMER when...

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 A.M.
Your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
Potatoes cook underground, just pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers feed their chickens ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk.

Unfortunately I understand those all too well [Smile] We are just lucky for now as it hasn't hit here just yet, maybe we have a week left.

For the sign painters, you know it's summer in the South when your stabillo's are in a liquid state.

I LOVE IT.....after livin most of my life in pa. with the 300 days of overcast and maybe 65 days of sunshine, winters of snow tires, inspections, salt of the roads, ice on the windshield, slippery roads and hills you cant get up, freezin my fingers off and then i moved to MAINE!!!!!!! now i thought it was cold in pa., boy did get some new learnin.
in maine it snows so much that the snow plows have wings....hehehehehe, only place i ever lived that it snowed on the 4TH OF JULY!!!!! and cold i saw it go to -75(mean temp was -30-35 below, with 5 mph breeze)and stayed ther for weeks. also used to watch the wall switchs grow ice!!!!! from the screws that held em in place!! got so cold up ther one winta.....everytime you spoke a word, it would freeze up as soon as it left your mouth, was a quiet winta, but boy when the spring thaw came......all those words got heard!!!!!!!!!

Thats not cold! OP
Try Lake Tahoe duing a storm. White out condidtion
Complete raod closure. 85 mile an hour winds.
"Oh! sh*t, wheres my car?" complete burried, takes
an hour to dig it out, and 45 minutes to warm it
up. My friend opened his car door, and almost
blew it off the hinges. I didn't see the sky once
for three weeks. Hell, I didn't see my truck for
two.

God! I miss the snow. I wanna go skiing again,
just one more time this year. [Frown]

nah..

You know it's summer when your car door handles break off in your hands but not before the logo stamped onto the back of the handle is branded into your skin..

... or when all the local businesses wrap their door handles with cloth so they don't burn quite as badly..

.. or when bringing the groceries inside a bag rips open spilling the eggs on the sidewalk, and they sizzle.

Ever cook a porterhouse or tri-tip on your car's dashboard? Welcome to AZ. [Smile]
