I need to find a supplier quickly for vinyl receptive nylon banners. My supplier claimed that their's were, but after trying two different brands of vinyl, and rubbing down the banners with alcohol, (their suggestion), the vinyl will not stick at all. I'm under the gun with this job, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tim

Tim,
If you are talking about the cloth feeling nylon banners, then two of the banners suppliers I use said that vinyl won't stick to them. They are for screen printing or embroidering.

I've actually lettered these with no problems in the past, so I know they're out there, somewhere. I think my current supplier has changed materials. Anyone got a clue? Thanks!

Dac-EZ from Ameriban, sticks to Nylon beautifully, especially if you iron it down with very low heat. It's a cloth-like vinyl with a very aggressive adhesive.
Creative Banner Assemblies also has a product for Nylon material, same thing, different name which I do not remember.

Algoma Banner in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario have a vinyl receptive nylon banner product. Comes in 4 or 5 colors. They also have a sister company in the UP of Michigan that ships all over the U.S. I don't know its name but a call to Algoma Banner will put you on the right trail. If interested send me a email and I will give you their phone numbers. I don't have them here but I do at the shop.

Some companies coat one side only for Vinyl receptive.
Some roll coated materials inward.
Some outward.

Did you try a trail application on the reverse side?

A quick flash of Lacquer on a light damp rag might give it tooth for the vinyl.

Good Luck.
