I am a new owner of a used Roland ColorCamm PC-60. I read somewhere that clear coating your graphics will help eliminate the "banding" look of your graphics. Being that the print head is only so big you are able to see where it prints (the head width) I guess you would call it.
My question is how would Krylon work on this ?? I know there are other clear coats out there but Krylon seem to be the cheapest.
We sprayed MAXIMUM exterior clear on an Edge print that went on a van. It was a disaster.
The clear crinkeled cracked within 6 months. We had to replace 4 gaphics that were 3 foot by 4 foot. OUCH!
I think the industry standard is still hot lamination. There are some industrial clear coats that are roller coated over ink jet printed billboards. However, billboard adds don't stick around very long.
MY vote is to stay away from Krylon.
Some have had success with Frog Juice. I have not tried it so I can't say. Maybe some who have tried Frog Juice can tell you how it holds up.

Frog Juice sems to work so far, had it on our Cruiser since last summer with no crinkling or fading of the graphic. Keep your fingers crossed. because without the clear the prints will most likely fail, at different times for different colors.
