Oh Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!! Mark, I don't doubt that Chris is doing a great job. The messages he left were very kind and sincere too.
You must know by now I am just impatient!!!!!Totally impatient. If I have to wait more than 15 minutes for a customer to show up.....I am outta there.

Life's been drug backwards through a knot hole and smacked back against the backside of that fence for me lately... My Dad died and I was elected "family hero".
(Why do I have to be so damn organized and level headed? It gets me into more chit than when I was flying off the handle and riding on the seat of my pants while driving fast and staying up all night... SOBER! LOL)
I'm half way done with two panels and two bedroom door signs (they all look similiar and go to my panel dude, my dearest letterhead friends, and my kids) and plan to wrap them all up this next week.
The wrapped in a white jacket side of the Moon
P.S. Terry, I haven't got a hold of my panel dude in Canada yet... I know he's Signs in the Pines or something like that (but not Richard Bustamonte Signs in the Pines) and I have his name and address SOMEWHERE in that aftermath of a cyclone I call an office, but... Oh, I'm GETTING there! LOL I hope he likes it when it gets there, with all the other "sorry I'm a chit" gifts.

No! Not you, Steff. You shouldn't feel bad, I sent my panel off day before yesterday. "Guess I'm poo too."
Ya know, I spent alot of time thinking of an unusual name for my sign company, and now you tell me theres another, Signs in the Pines? Please tell me it isn't so.
At least I have the domain name. I wonder if that other Signs in the Pines would like to buy my domain name? I'll sell it for $20K US.

I just heard from Pat Whatley. My panel is on the way. He had to do another as the Postal service lost the first. I'm very sorry to hear that Pat. Thank you for contacting me. I look forward to decorating my shop with your panel. Thanks again!!!

A suggestion if we decide to do this again: the first 2 panels to be completed swap with each other, the next 2 with each other, and so on. No deadlines, nobody gets burned. The obvious drawback is that you won't know who you're making one for, but that also opens some possibilities. I f there's an odd number of participants, I'll make an extra.

The first time around I had thought of a direct swap with the person swapping with you, but I had still been thinking this happens from drawing out of a hat & then goes acording to deadline.
Sonny's idea sounds great to me!
My recipient knows whats up & has been patient (I have been on the final drive to completing it for the last 6 hours today) But I have felt extra guilty because Monte had his panel to me right on time.
Motion to approve Sonny's idea, but we need a new project coordinator for the 2003-2004 swap. At least the logictical nightmare should go way down with this idea.

My feeling is that there HAS to be a deadline set or it will never end. I'm wondering if this one ever will. Today is officially 2 months past the due date.
Someone else had suggested setting a date and have a picture of your panel submitted by that date. The draw is then made from all the finished panels. I like that idea.
I'd also suggest to whoever does the next one to take advantage of the BB poll feature. Any decisions that need to be made can be put up for everyone to vote on. I tried and tried at first to get input on how to run this deal but got very little response. I ended up just making decisions on my own and I didn't like doing that. A committee would be good too, but I'd also like to see everyone be able to give some input.

Plan the next one around a live meet. Organize it here but have everyone bring there panel to the meet and draw names for the swap. Now everyone involved gets a panel and you got some people to show up for a live meet....just an idea.

I like the idea of the swap being every year on the same date, say Jan 31, and then everyone who made one by that date gets their name in a hat and then have a drawing to see who gets what. But it does lose a little when you don't know who they're for...

There would be no way in hell you could not have a deadline with all the procrastinators on this board.

Well, I didn't mean LITERALLY no deadline. In effect, the early birds swap with each other and the procrastinators (or perfectionists) do likewise. There would need to be some point at which the total deadbeats throw in the towel, however. (Terry's probably getting close to that now) If there's agreement on the process, I'll be glad to volunteer for the mailing logistics if someone else will take the picture-posting duties. But let's not get started until this one's over - Terry needs a break.

Anyone out there get Teena Wilson's name? Still haven't heard from the person who is making her panel. A call, an email, anything...would be nice.
