Well I sent my panel off the 24 of Jan...due to a wrong street number.the package got routed to the "Will Call Desk" at UPS.the package was picked up and signed for Feb 7th.....I assume the recepiant was not duly impressed...........for they have failed to mention whether they liked it or not............
I sent the panel out by the dead line...and sent a photo to Terry as well .Terry acknowledged he received the photo.....however I cannot seem to find it in the posted photos......
And btw I have not received my Panel as of today...... Oh well that is par for the course for me !!!!!

Terry, Once "He" got back in touch with me....(His phone is unlisted) so I could not call him....And the operators had NO LISTING for his company name....CJ posted for me....(as I was away from my computer)...the receipant called me..the next day....and I told him what had happened..He said no problem, as he was going to pick up the panel that afternoon..I ask him to call me.....and let me know if it arrived in good condition as I had insured it for $500....this was Feb 7..the records show he picked up the panel that afternoon....however I have still to hear from him...
Thanks Cheryl......Maybe next time I will "Draw" your name.

Shep', here's an idea for the future. We work a teeny little receiver chip??? into our panel designs. If recipient doesen't respond within a certain time,(fully adjustable by artist), then, POOF, panel reconfigures itself into "my brother-in-laws/ my kids/ other assorted relatives" art. You know what I mean!

I would think it would be common courtesy to let your recipient know that you have received their panel or vise versa. If you are not done yet let your recipient now and poor Terry so he doesn't have to worry about someone not getting a panel.
Just my 3 canadian cents.

Ok, first off I want to apologize to my panel person...you don't know who you are but I haven't sent yours out yet. The last month or so seems to have taken on a life of it's own. I kind of feel like I fell down the rabbit hole or something. I blinked and it's mid-February already - how the heck did THAT happen?!!?
That being said, it's pretty much ready to go and if the post office would stop declaring every other Monday as a holiday maybe I could get it mailed out!
I'm highly motivated now to get it packaged up today and mailed out tomorrow. Now if I can just remember to take pictures, we'll be fine.

Haven't got mine yet . . . maybe at some point in time the late panellers ought to 'fess up to their intendeds and let 'em know what's going on? Some of them have probably changed their minds by now.

I too am guilty of not having sent my panel out yet to my recipient. I did however start my project in November....and I hope that my recipient appreciates the time into the process. I have one last step to complete for a finish that was something I discovered at the conclave...and Lola is so backed up that she has been unable to get the material to me...once that arrives which I hope is today, I will need 4 days to allow for drying time and off it goes to it's intended recipient.
and like you Shep, I hope my recipient appreciates it and enjoys many moons with it!

I'd love to do a refresher, call it a "refinish of my Grain??"
But...that little 6 day foray into the wilds of NC cost me a bundle, (nothing to do with running around the State, riding and crashing in 2 other cities??)
It was a lot of fun, the whole package, I was just in awe around you all guys....4-5 guys , all talking at once, loudest and fastest wins,.... BOOM, they're off again. Between hotrods, brushes, signs, drinkin' Ladies you've knopwn.... It was a blast. Wood Graining was good too!!!
Gotta go, use me as an advocate, if anybody is wonderin' if "Is this a good course to take??"

I sure would like to see that panel of yours, so I certainly wouldn't mind if you aired it here, and if Terry puts it up with the rest of the panels for all to see.
I think the likelihood is good that your recipient has recieved it by now. Why "he" hasn't gotten in touch with you is anyone's guess. But it could just be that he's having some system problems, or maybe some other things hanging him up right now. He sure is hard to track down eh?
We'll give him the benefit of doubt. But in the mean time, let's see it!!!

The Receipant signed for the Panel at UPS Feb 7th..at the "Will Call Desk"......
I can only assume that he did not like it......since he has not contacted me.....or to the best of my knowledge..he has not sent a photo to Terry.........
This is all hand painted on 1/8" Illustration Board and backed up with 3/4" Birch Plywood.....aprox 16" x 24".....
"Every thing is painted....including the "Linen Mat"..the "Faux Frame"......"The shadow of the Frame and the Highlight of the Matt"..."The rolled up area" depicts the Fishing Pier on the island where I live......The rest of the Panel is personalized to the receipant..Then the whole thing was clear coated with enough coats (About 10...and sanded between every other coat)...so that you cannot feel any of the Painting....

Shep, even after you told us that it's not dimensional, and that the matt, frame and shadows are painted ... it's still difficult to "see" it that way.
Holey smokes ... that's fantastic!
Thanks for the teaser Shep! Now I'm really wanting to see more!

Shep, my guess would be that, regardless of the reasons, your recipient failed to do the respectful thing in acknowledging your panel & now is completely shamed & too embarrased to respond. Shep, I know you are aware of your talent & the universal acceptance & appreciation of it by this community. I don't think an assumption that your panel was not liked is realistic.
IMO it would be far easier to politely show appreciation for anothers work (even in a case where a recipient was somewhat dissapointed for whatever reason) then the difficulty one would have in surfacing on the board as the "guilty" party in this thread. Unless of course there is some severe extenuating circumstances, in which case the embarrasment may not fall on the recipient.

Doug, I will agree with most of what you said...However I said that I could only assume that He did not like.....Not others,. I did include my home phone .cell phone.and email address with the Panel... I am SURE There has to be a good reason on his part.........This started out to be a tongue and cheek poke at fun....deadlines.etc....So I am going to back off before this gets out of hand....
In fact I have spoken with this person at length.....(Before he picked up the Panel)......and in MHO he is an "Allright Guy" I really don't want to cause him any embarrasment with this.....Like you I am sure there is a Good reason for his lack of response.....and not something intentional towards me or the Panel....If I have said anything to embarrass him......Then for this I humbly ask him to forgive me for having a little fun at his expense.....
In Fact I joked with him about..that if he didn't like it...That I would pay shipping to have it back..he he he ...Hell I would hang it on my own wall...even though it was Personalized specifically for him..
NUFF SAID......Now where the Heck is my Panel ????????...Terry emailed me a week or so ago......saying the person making mine would ship it last Monday..(Must have been the same carrier that Mark used.......) he he he So if the person who is making mine and is reading this.....EMAIL ME......I will accept any excuse...it is just the Damn wait and uncertainty that "Bugs" the Heck out of me...I guess I am too Impatient...
