Hi all- Havin a little trouble figgerin this out, I need to design a set of 3 letters, in Flexi, that peak in the center, bottom stays flat, like a kids drawing of a house. I can't seem to figure out how-to-do.

Thanks in advance!

Steve

I'm using 5.7, but here is how I do it.

1. Select the text.
2. Goto the 'Tools' menu and select 'Distort'
3. Scroll throught the list of distortions and select "Notch/Peak - Vertical"
4. Now when you see your text, there should be two points which you can clik and drag. You need to grap the one that is at the top center and drag it up.

Is that what you lookin for?

Hi Steve,
Some versions don't have the distort feature. I have 2 copies that do and one that doesn't. The one that doesn't I usually design the text in corel, convert it to curves with no outline and copy and paste or save as a cmx 6/7 and merge it into flexi. Then in flexi add the outlines or whatever else. I usually find corel easier to design in anyway. Good luck.

Bruce- Nope- The bottom of the design moves with the top. I need to peak the top, and leave the bottom flat. I did use the "wave" distortion and got it close.

If I cant figure this out tonight, I'll call the guy who sold it to me.

Steve

hmm, what version are you using? when i grab the top dot, it's the only part that moves up. In fact, I can't even get it to do what it appears to be doing to you. Same goes for going in the opposite direction (down).

Steve - I've always done that distortion the same as Bruce and when I drag on the centre top node, only the top moves for me. The earth does too once in a while.

Steve,
I'm using version 6.5 and in the distort catagory there is a distortion called "fit" it has 4 points. Using this distortion you should get what you're looking for. If you have an earlier edition without fit what I would do is distort it the best that you can for the top and then convert to outlines and then use your path editor to strighten the base line and manipulate the letters.
Hope this helps.
