I am just getting started with my sign business. I purchased a Roland PC-600. I have a few issues I could use some help with. I am getting banding in the image. Not evil white lines, but what I feel are probably a pitch adjustment issue. The Roland manual is just a little vague. If this is happening fix it by adjusting the pitch. Well ok, but is there a way to tell which way it needs to be adjusted? I cannot get it to cut from the colorchoice software. It just prints the line. I have followed the instructions for setting up the CutContour line but it doesn't work. And my last problem seems to be with cutting fine items.
When I cut it lifts the small pieces of vinyl. I read someplace a 60-degree blade may help but it hasn't. I have tried the cut test procedure that is described in the manual but it still pulls up vinyl. I am using Oracal 651 vinyl. I also tried a small piece of etched glass vinyl and it did the same thing. Thanks for any help I really appreciate it.

Is seems like this is either a knife force (downpressure) issue, or blade depth issue.
You want to make sure the blade is only cutting through the vinyl and not the backing paper. Your blade might be down to far, or the presure might be too high. Another thing to investigate would be the speed of the cutter, most have adjustment in their cutter drivers. You will want to make it cut for accuracy instead of speed. Hope this might help solve your problem.

Banding is a problem with that machine..

Fine cuttings are often a problem with some machines. Reduce speed or pressure sometimes helps as brian stated...

I had one problem with some fine cuttins lifting on my anagrah last year, But, that was caused by a dull blade.

I have a PC-60 and am in agreement with the other replys to your post. Sounds like presure or speed. A dull knife will do the same thing. Check to make sure the knife is rotating in the holder.

I have a PC-60 and have experienced both. If a sharp blade doesn't fix the the pulling up problem then look to too much pressure and/or blade down too much. I know when the blade on the PC-60 is just right for cutting when I can take the cutting attachment and rubbed it on my lip and I can just barely, barely feel the blade on my lip. I set the pressure between 3-4 and then run you cut test.

As far as the banding, are you using brand new cartridges or re-fills? The prongs on the cartridges that have been re-filled alot eventually get weak and don't keep the top of the cartridge tight to the bottom. This causes the ribbon to have some slop on the post in the cartridge and the ribbons end up not running striaght or geting winkles in the ribbon-showing up in the print. Sometimes it can look like banding but not usually for the whole width of your print.
