Hello, In my attempt to bring up posts for the entire year, (which I did on Dec. 30th), I was unsuccessful. I do not have one definite subject in mind so I did not go that route. I clicked on the retrieval button "go" and waited a while, but it brought me up to a deadend. I would like to copy on to floppy a lot of the posts for the year. I know I should have done it during the year, but my computer has been up and down and I have a lot of catching up to do in various tasks. I thought I would do this soon. Does anyone know how to do this effectively? Could it just be because I am not "computer savvy?" Any help is appreciated as usual!
Deb

Deb, I pretty sure Steve can explain it better than I, but I'm pretty sure that you may have given the computor server on the other end a headache trying to retrieve your request. It requires an enormous amount of memory to do this and possibly your computors browser timed out in the wait. If you are trying to find technical posts on various subjects, I would try the search tool and type in my various requests, one at a time. Like, maybe "paint problems" or "best substrate". I do this quite often, but actually with all the info available in search, you might as well leave it in that library, and refer to it as you need to. Just a thought. Steve, if you read this; How long does posts stay in archive for the search engine to use???? Bronzeo

As I recall, my computer is limited on memory! I tried to upgrade, but I was told it would not take anymore, and I only could upgrade the hard drive.
If it is another problem, I would be interested to know, because I would like to scroll through the archives if I could, and download onto floppy for future reference. It would be great to have it on hand when needed. I do have some subjects in mind, although I would love to check out the total picture. thanks for your suggestion
