Wife woke me up at 3:00 A.M. to tell me the bathroom carpet was wet. After turning off the shut off valves for the vanity, I immediately went down stairs to see if there was any water damage in my shop.

I was lucky as the water had not started to drop onto my computer and plotter yet! Disconnected everything and moved them aside about 4 feet and had just moved the last unit when a small stream of water started falling where my CPU was located.
Another 15 minutes would have cost $$$$.

Everything is drying out now. Discovered that when my wife last placed towels under the vanity, she must have hit the riser enough to cause a very small leak. Must have been leaking about a week.

Man if it isn't one thing or another!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey Steve. Yes, you are lucky. Water and electronics just don't mix. I had a water leak in my shop a few weeks ago. Seems the septic had a block and it backed up in the shower and toilet in the shop. It is lower than the house. Man...what a mess. It just ruined the carpet in the bathroom, so not too bad.

Lucky for you that nature calls at the right times...hahaha [Wink]

Steve,
Glad you saved your PC!
When we got married, our first house was a second-hand double-wide trailer. After we got the water hooked up, we found that there were 17 places in the copper pipes which had busted from freezing. We fixed them all (we thought) came home one afternoon and found what looked like niagra falls cascading from the trailer about a third the way down the back side. I had to tear through a wall to get to the leak and found that someone had patched one of the leaks with a piece gas line hose and it had dryrotted. That was a whole lotta fun.
